Tim Murray: Djent Using an Open Tuning!

Hey all! In this video I've tuned my Ibanez RGDIX6MPB (which I won from a Giant Guitars raffle over on Instagram) down to an Open G Tuning variant. Low to High, it is: G D G D G A
Playing all strings open sounds like a Gsus2 chord, or a massive powerchord if you omit the highest string. This allows you to play the exact same shape across five strings to form different scale runs. Or alternatively, anything you play on the first three strings can be doubled up if you then play the same riff on strings 3 - 5. If you're after more music with this kind of tuning, I'd highly suggest giving David Maxim Micic a listen, as in his early stuff, he uses the same tuning but up a semitone. This is a really fun tuning, so hoping to get some more riffs/full songs out with this tuning shortly :)

As always, if you have any questions regarding anything mixing/production/instrument related, feel free to drop them as a comment below, and I'll try to reply to everyone! :)
