Watch in 4K!!! This is a cover of 'The Only Thing They Fear Is You', by Mick Gordon. It's off of the new Doom Eternal soundtrack.
The new Doom Eternal soundtrack is absolutely amazing. This is something my wife ( @Maru Martinez ) and I have wanted to do for a while now, and we finally had the time to put everything together. It's also our first cover video together, and I hope we can absolutely do more of this in the future. We both are always very busy chasing our own musical endeavors. So it was nice being able to make this video together.
As you can hear, the sound is a bit more 'produced' compared to my average drum video I normally upload. I wanted to mix the audio as if it were for a release. So I did edit some of the playing, and I also blended drum samples. The guitars have also been quad tracked to get a bit more weight. Either way, I hope you enjoy the production. My wife did an amazing job recording the guitars and filming/editing all of the video.
You can find more of Maru's videos on her Youtube channel and her Instagram page (info below). She has music released, and she's currently working on more. She's using a Guerilla Guitar 8 string in this video. This is the same 8 string I've used for a bunch of my own material. Her tone is a combination of tones from an Axe FX II.
Watch in HD!!! This is a video for a song by my good friend, Jason Kui, titled 'The Creator/The Destroyer'. It's off of his most recent release titled 'Naka'.
Jason and I go back a few years now, and we've become very good friends. I recorded/performed on his first release titled 'Absence of Words', and he provided me with the opportunity to play on this record as well (five songs). Along with performing/recording for 'Naka', Jason also asked me to mix and master the entire record, which has probably been the most eclectic and diverse project I've worked on to date. So I really can't thank him enough for trusting me with his music over the past few years.
Below are some links to where you can check out more of Jason's music:

I want to also give a huge thank you to Tama for sending me the new kit I'm using in this video. Tama has been an absolutely amazing company to work with, and I can't thank them enough for their continued support. This new kit is a Starclassic Walnut/Birch in Lacquer Arctic Blue Oyster. The walnut wood is a great substitute for bubinga. Although it doesn't have as much bottom end as bubinga (in my opinion), it still brings a bit of low end to the table while also balancing a bit of mid range in the mix. The birch is perfect because it provides the attack and clarity in the drum. So overall, I think its a great combination that's very well balanced and different. I've only ever tried the UV2's on this kit being that I just got it very recently. So I'm curious to see how other head combinations will sound on the kit. On that note, the UV2's have become my new go-to for tom batters. They're insanely durable, and they sound amazing.

Eyal Levi announces Portland, Ore. "Unstoppable Recording Machine" audio boot camp with Keith Merrow, Anup Sastry
ORLANDO, FL - Eyal Levi, critically acclaimed guitarist, composer, producer and engineer, has announced an additional December second stop on his "Unstoppable Recording Machine" audio boot camp tour, set to take place at Portland, Ore.'s Falcon Studios on December 5-7. Special guests will include guitarist/songwriter/producer Keith Morrow and drummer Anup Sastry (Jeff Loomis, Intervals). Registration is on a first come, first served basis, and space is limited. For more information, and to sign up for the Portland workshop, head over to: http://www.unstoppablerecordingmachine.com/.
"I'm super excited to announce that both Keith Merrow and Anup Sastry will be my in-studio lineup for the Portland boot camp," commented Levi. "They are both stellar musicians who have a lot to teach. This will be your chance to not only learn from us, but to also record some of the very best players in the scene. Keith, Anup and I will show you exactly how modern metal records are made!"
Keith Merrow added, "I was excited when Eyal asked me if I wanted to be the studio guitar player for the Portland boot camp. Not only do I love doing studio work, but I know there's a lot to be learned from Eyal. Having worked with him before, I already know this will be a worthwhile experience for all involved. Come get your learn on!"
Levi describes the "Unstoppable Record Machine" boot camps as "intense, hands-on, comprehensive immersion style experiences that will show people exactly what matters when trying to make pro sounding recordings. In just a few days, we will cover what would take a year or more in traditional school." Levi has already hosted a successful workshop in Cleveland, Ohio, with an Orlando, Fla. stop planned for mid-December with renowned special guests Matt Heafy and Joey Sturgis. Additional info on all "Unstoppable Recording Machine" workshops can be found online at: http://www.unstoppablerecordingmachine.com/.
Born in Atlanta, Ga. into a musical family, Eyal Levi was already playing violin and piano by the age of three, and composed his first symphonic work when he was just 17.
In 2010, Levi moved to Orlando, Fla. where he joined forces with Jason Suecof (Trivium, Chimaira) and Mark Lewis (Deicide, DevilDriver) at Audiohammer Studios. There he helped to both expand and enrich their facilities by adding a magnificent drum room, two new control rooms and sleeping quarters for the bands.
As a part of the Audiohammer family, Eyal Levi worked with such acts as Job for a Cowboy, August Burns Red, Six Feet Under, Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, Whitechapel, Deicide, Death Angel, I Killed The Prom Queen, The Contortionist, Motionless In White, Arsis, Demon Hunter, Firewind, Charred Walls of the Damned, The Black Dahlia Murder, Battlecross, DevilDriver and Reflections.
Aside from his work behind the glass, Levi has toured the world and released three studio albums with Dååth, while also releasing an instrumental guitar album with Emil Werstler on Magna Carta called Avalanche of Worms. Recently, he has taught several CreativeLive 'Music & Audio' courses on topics ranging from audio engineering, to songwriting and more. Keep up with Levi on his Tumblr at: http://eyallevi.tumblr.com/, and stay tuned for more information on additional "Unstoppable Recording Machine" workshops.

'Lion' is an EP I've been working on the past few months. Like all of my previous work, all of the guitars are programmed. I'm a drummer, and I can't actually fluently play guitar. I play and record my own guitar/bass samples using a real guitar/bass, and then I arrange these samples to form riffs. Credits

Ghost' is an album written, recorded, and produced by my self. It is a compilation of my own work over the past several months. Writing and releasing an album has been something I've wanted to do for a while now, and it has finally become a reality.
All of the guitars and bass are 'programmed'. I am a drummer, and that is the only instrument I know how to fluently play. I've always enjoyed using music as an outlet to express my self. This is why I started doing what I do. I feel like I have found a unique way of composing and producing music, and I am able to express myself through other ways outside of just a drum kit. 'Ghost' is a reflection of this...
