Nori Bucci,Bruce Brucato: Acoustic Duo part 2 Nori jams with the late Bruce Brucato

Dug these up from my video archive while reflecting on the passing the late great Bruce Brucato. I believe this was winter 06 but might have been 07. I don't remember.

I experimented with the audio, cleaned up the crowd noise, and there was no lighting at this place, so did what i could. sorry about the shaky cam! maybe don't watch in full screen. still i like whats here. its not an original but to me its very 'bruce' the tune is called 'Joise' if any one has any info on the orignal please let me know. thanks.

Bruce Brucato: Gamalon and Buffalo Hall of Fame guitarist passes away. RIP

RIP Bruce Brucato

It was with great sadness I learned today of the passing of Bruce Brucato, guitarist with Buffalo NY area fusion group Gamalon. Releasing a string of albums with them in the late 1980's into the 90's, he was known for his clean chording, volume swell technique and incredible soloing on the albums "Gamalon", "Ariel View", "Held to the light", "High Contrast" as well as "Project activation earth" with sax player Ernie Watts. I saw Gamalon over 200 times (really) and loved every note the guy played. After a succession of line up changes the band ceased in the 00's, but he was a constant member contributing playing and writing skills throughout their existence. They performed a reunion gig in December of 2012 that had one of the largest capacity clubs in the WNY area packed to the rafters. RIP Bruce Brucato

Nori Bucci
Lost my best friend in the whole world today. Bruce Brucato was a great musician and a kind, loving human being. He made everyone laugh and was the most giving person I'd ever known. He will be so sorely missed by all. Your thoughts and prayers are so very appreciated.

Nori Bucci: Gamalon complete show Great band from buffalo - Full

Nori Bucci: deleted article from April 2007

What’s your current electric setup?
My main electric is a ’96 Fender Strat-ocaster loaded with Fender Noiseless pickups. It’s really comfortable, and it has a thin, fast neck. I love the sound of single-coils. They’re so clean and punchy. My amp rig is a solid-state Fender Jazzmaster Ultralight head and 1x12 cabinet. I was strictly a tube-amp lover until I tried this little amp. It has a beautiful clean sound, a tight distortion tone, it’s loud, and it weighs less than 17 lbs—which is great for musicians like me who carry their own gear. For effects, I have a Boss GT-6 and a DigiTech JamMan. My strings are D’Addario, and I use Fender 358 Jazz picks. For acoustic work, I mainly play a Martin 00C-MAE strung with Ernie Ball Bronze Silk & Steel strings. I also have a Yamaha Magicstomp, and a Fender Acoustasonic Junior amp. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with different tunings on my Line 6 Variax Acoustic 700. That’s great fun. Also, Shubb capos are great for changing your sound.

What tools do you employ for songwriting?
I have a Korg Triton LE workstation that I use for composing drum and keyboard parts. To record, I use Steinberg Cubase SX3. When I record at home, I find that I get a lot more accomplished, because there’s less pressure and I’m free to experiment. I like to use sequencers in the initial songwriting stages, so I can experiment with various sounds on different parts. I’ll also record a part on both electric and acoustic to see which sounds the best, and that can set me in a certain direction, as well. Sometimes, just by noodling on the guitar, I’ll come up with a great idea.

What do you think made you an award-winning player?
I just believe you should feel every note you play—whether it’s a fast run, a melody, or a rhythmic groove. On the technical side, I practice chords and scales every day, and I’m still learning things from very basic exercises. There’s always more to learn.

Nori Bucci: new cd confirmed

I caught up with Nori Bucci to find out about the new material that's been posted and see if there was some more information on a possible upcoming CD.

Nori Bucci says:
I am currently taking some time off from gigging, but not for too long. I'll post my dates at my website once I start playing out again... I am currently working on a new CD, but am not sure I can say exactly when it will be finished... most of the music is almost finished as we speak, I just have to do the mixing and mastering.

So if I hear more, I'll post it on the blog. In the mean time some more Nori Bucci in more gospel acoustic mood.
