It was 20 years ago, my hair was long, I had just finished my studies at the conservatory and left to Los Angeles to study at the Musicians Institute with nothing more then my trusty Ibanez Saber guitar, a Triaxis preamp, a mobile coffeemaker, and some clothes. A year later I came back with a record deal with Mark Varney's Legato Label and had a demo-cd in my suitcase with 9 original compositions featuring guest appearances from Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale, Daniel Gilbert, Carl Verheyen and Scott Kinsey.
'Generator' was released a year later on Mark Varney's Legato label and has become quite a fusion classic over the years.
To celebrate the 20th year anniversary of this release, 'Generator' will be remastered, new artwork will be added, and a never before released version of the closing track 'Music For Runyon Canyon' will replace the old one that had some digital clipping/distortion in the middle. It will be made available on my label Richie Rich Music later this year. The remaster is well worth it, since the original was over-compressed. The new version sounds like it was intended, much more open and punchy. Exciting times! Stay tuned! — with Mark Varney and 2 others.
