Adam Lajoie: Mindless noodling but in the style of Marco Sfogli or Eric Johnson

Mindless noodling.. Showing off some (muscle memory) licks.. there is clearly no direction or phrasing in this, I realize that! And I like the reverb, it makes it sound surreal for me.. Just for fun.. I can already feel the hate I'm going to get for it hahah. Clearly influenced by Marco Sfogli and Eric Johnson...

lesson - THINK about what you are playing while improvising.. Don't always rely on muscle memory (like I did here)! It'll force you to think about your phrasing and it'll help big time.. of course, you have to start slow.. Also, work on your groove/timing/rhythmic phrasing.. by strumming, using one note.. etc.. phrase rhythmically.. again be mindful of it.

Rohan Stevenson: I Built The Sky - Pannus - I challenged myself to write and complete a song in 24 hours

You know I think Rohan Stevenson has a great Idea here... so many other players could benefit in limiting the time for creation, effectively using the power of now!

I challenged myself to write and complete a song in 24 hours...This is the result.

Hans Van Even: N-Land - solos - with Fractal Audio FX8 - super quality, watch in HD

Here's a new demo with the excellent FX8 effects processor from Fractal Audio (using the 4 Cable Method).

Other gear used is my Engl Retro Tube 50 amp and Two Notes (Torpedo Wall of Sounds III) for CAB/MIC sims.

ALL FX on the guitar track come 100% from the FX8 unit, even the T808-OD block, which is placed before the amp input, I only used the cab sims from Two Notes (Torpedo Wall of Sounds III) and a limiter on the guitar track. NO ADDITIONAL DAW FX like Reverbs or Delays have been used on this track! This FX8 unit is really fantastic, it has the flexibility of simple pedals but with much better pro audio quality, even the wah-wah sounds bad-ass!

FX used in the FX8 :

T808 Overdrive
Graphic EQ
Studio Compressor
Reversed Delay
Dual Delay
Medium Plate Reverb

You can download the patch to use on your own FX8 from here :/AIR-DELAY-&

Song = N-Land from my recent Solo CD you can find here!cd-stard...

Bass = Goran Vujic
Drums = Leo Isnard

Thanks to Jeff Beck for the inspiration on this one ;)

Hope you'll like it,

Many thanks to Dweezil for inviting me, thanks to the superb pro crew and lots of good energy coming from a sold out Melkweg. I had a great time!

Thanks to Paul Berkholst and others for the video and audio.

The Count: Stringkiller - from the abum More Is More - Featuring twitcher Bill Oddie

YES! At last the album is complete, and what better way to celebrate than with the worlds most over the top music video? Pyrotechnics, double necks, smoke machines, television legend BILL ODDIE! It's got it all. And just in case you were wondering, yes this is all very tongue in cheek! The intention was the make it cheesy, absurd and incredibly over the top. Because what's the point if you're not having fun?
