Daniele Gregolin: Euro Groove Department Milan Guitar Day 6 #1 1080p

Euro Groove Department and Michael Manring live Buy the DVD

The trio meets in winter 2004 when dutch bass player Joeri Hommerson who had just finished taping some pieces with X3 (Denny Seiwell drummer past member of Paul Mc.Carthney's Wings and Chris Currel Guitarist past member of Michael Jackson band), decides to form an all european band (most of all Italian) signing Marco Maggiore on drums and Daniele Gregolin on guitar (session guitarist for many Italian pop stars and solo artist).

They started working as a band on pieces already written in the past by Hommerson rearranging everything in new key tones giving birth to the Euro Groove Department!

In March 2005 they recoreded Optical Illusion in four days, arranged eleven original Hommerson's pieces were recorded, plus a very flashing version of Dizzy Gillespie's "A Night in Tunisia".

Euro Groove Department also collaborate live and studio with the great bass icon Michael Manring who leaves his marks on the moving ballad "Aliyah", dedicated to homonym R&B singer who died prematurely on a plane crash.

Emanuele Cisi, well known Italian Jazz saxophonist appears in the track "Out for Lunch".

Eurogroove Department has also played with Michael Manring Adam Nitti (Dave Weckl band) Bryan Beller (Steve Vai Band, Deathclock and solo artist) and with the italian guitar player William Stravato at "Villa Arconati's Noi bassisti in Villa Festival and "Groove Festival" 2005 and 2006. On the disc moreover appears as authors Daniele Gregolin and Marco Maggiore in "Song For A Bad Bunny" ballad solo on guitar and "Hands Up" drum solo.

Euro Groove Department played in many european festivals included the Euro Bass Day 2nd and 3rd edition (2004-05), they shared the stage with some of the best muicians around such as Michael Manring,Adam Nitti, Bryan Beller, Dominique Di Piazza , Jeff Berlin, Stanley Jordan, Mike Pope among others...

Daniele Gregolin is a Music Man/Ernie Ball and DiMarzio brands and use Mesa/Boogie amplifications.

Scott Henderson: video lessons

The January video lessons were very successful and I've received all positive responses from my students. I'm doing another shoot in April.

If you'd like a lesson, write me at mango3@attglobal.net
I'll only respond to serious inquiries about lessons. Tell me specifically what you want in the lesson. It has to be specific - "jazz improvisation" is not specific enough. You could choose from the following topics:

major and melodic minor scales and their modes
how to use diminished ideas
how to use augmented ideas
chord voicings
chord melody
rock and blues playing
jazz phrasing
dog training (not a good choice)
motific development
learning the fingerboard
making money in jazz (really bad choice)
playing outside
recording and tone
guitars and amps
how to set up a strat
how to use guitar polish (discounted price)

These are just a few suggestions. If I get a request for something that isn't listed, I'll make the lesson and add it to the above list.

All lessons will be a combination of verbal explanation and music examples played over backing tracks.

I'll send the video to you with YouSendIt, and you'll pay me through PayPal. You will have to sign an agreement which states that you will use the video for yourself only. Breaking the agreement will get you a visit from Larry the lawyer. I have the right to send the same lesson multiple times if I get more than one request for that specific lesson, so don't expect to hear your name mentioned in the video.

The lesson will be around half an hour and will cost 150.00 US

Hope to see you in April!

Cesar Huesca: Arkitecht - Through Broken Glass djentalmen take note

This is track #3 of The Arkitecht's first album called Hyperstructure. I collaborated with Genaro Ochoa doing most guitar solos throughout the record. Check more songs and info at: http://www.myspace.com/thearkitecht, http://www.thearkitecht.com Buy the album Hyperstructure at these following sites and online stores: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/arkitecht

The Arkitecht is a one-man band created by Genaro Ochoa in Mexico City. The idea of the project is to be non-dependable on other musicians to accomplish a "band" sound. It is a blend of metal and progressive sub-genres thus resulting in an intrincated combination of styles.

The Album Hyperstructure was recorded in Genaro's homestudio in Mexico City and was mixed and mastered in Montepellier, France by the upcoming producer Brett Caldas-Lima (Freak Kitchen, To-Mera, Cynic). The package comes with a beautiful 24 page Booklet with designs and images by very talented artist from Chile and Germany

Hyperstructure is an album with two concepts inside:
The first half of the album which consists of six songs, are housed by the actual Hyperstrucutre concept. It is a short tale about a common man, a John Doe, who suddenly starts questioning the world around him and seeks to find an answer to why things are so messed up in the times we live in.

The second half of the album consists of just one song called Face Thief. This song is a complex progressive death metal epic. It has a full classical choir singing in spanish and a full size orchestra reminiscent to contemporary soundtracks on the vein of motion pictures like Matrix, Avalon, etc. The song lasts 32 minutes of an everchanging and breathtaking journey. The story is about a serial killer who seeks to bring the life of a gifted artist to its very ashes. A thriller on the vein of movies like Se7en, Fight Club, Lost Highway, etc.

The project although a solo effort in many ways, has the brilliant contributions of very talented people. Among them, the YouTube sensation Cesar Huesca on guitar solos, Dante Díaz and Alvaro Lamadrid on the vocals and Lila Nieto behind the lyrics.

The Arkitecht draws a new line between progressive music and metal, taking both currents even closer by blending contemporary forms of metal with atypical progressive approaches. Besides, the influence of classical and contemporary orchetral works give it a whole new sound that redefines symphonic metal in many ways.
