Constantine,Magnus Karlsson: Magnus replaced by Constantine for up coming shows

Primal Fear:
"On a less happy note we need to announce that Magnus (Karlsson) will be temporarily absent from the forthcoming live shows due to family obligations. Don't ask reg. the matter, this is serious and very private - Bottom Line!

It's tough for us to replace Magnus on the next shows as a guitarist, but it's even harder to replace his wonderful character. We've searched for the last couple of days for the best possible substitute and decided to recruit Constantine (MYSTIC PROPHECY, NIGHTFALL) - a 24 year old phenomenal talent from Greece. After the current rehearsals we're sure he will NOT disappoint! CU on tour - Unbreakable!"

Gary Moore: tests reveal Gary as eight times over the permitted amount to drive in Europe.

The musician suffered a heart attack brought on by the massive amount of booze he knocked back at the start of a sunshine holiday, the studies showed.
He had 380mg of alcohol per decilitre of blood in his system, more than 30mg the amount associated with fatalities and just short of the 416mg Amy Winehouse had in her body when she died surrounded by three empty vodka bottles.
The legal limit for driving in the UK is 80mg of alcohol per decilitre of blood.
In most European countries including Spain where drink-drink limits are lower, he would have been nearly eight times over the permitted amount to drive.
The tests also revealed father-of-three Moore, found dead in bed at a luxury Costa del Sol hotel last February, had abused alcohol for years.

Jason Sadites: Jazz-Rock-Fusion Project - let's raise the funds

Jason Sadites Jazz-Rock-Fusion Project feat. Marco Minnemann, Tony Levin & more

Our Story

Jason Sadites is a rock/fusion instrumentalist who is about to record his fourth full length instrumental guitar project. On this project Jason will have the pleasure and honor of working with many of the world's top musicians. Included among these are Tony Levin, Marco Minnemann, Alex Machacek, Adam Nitti, Bryan Beller and more. Jason is looking for funds to help finance the cost of having these musicians perform on his project so that the final product is one that would be considered world class. The project has a release date set for late 2012.

East Amplification Club 18 Demo with Jason Sadites

Details of Jason's previous projects can be seen below:
Jason entered the studio in 2004 to begin working on what would become his debut CD ‘ORBIT‘, which was released in late 2005. ‘ORBIT‘ received great reviews from many sources, complementing Jason not only his abilities on the guitar, but also on his melodic approach to songwriting.

In 2009 Jason released his second CD ‘WEVE‘. On the CD Jason performs with many world class musicians. Among them, world renowned drummers Kenny Aronoff, Marco Minnemann, Jerry Marotta, Gregg Bissonette and Chad Wackerman. Completing the rhythm sections with these drummers are bassists Tony Levin, Matt Bissonette and Martin Motnik. The exciting CD is out now and can be purchased through various online retailers.

Jason’s last project was the new CD “behind the laughter” a collaboration with Marco Minnemann. “laughter” is one of many release in Marco Minnemann’s series of Normalizer 2 CD which includes CD’s from Alex Machacek, Trey Gunn, Mike Keneally, John Czjakowski, Phi Yaan-Zek and Marco himself. .
The Impact

Jason's goal with this project is to push the limits of jazz/rock/fusion instrumental music. The music is based around great melody with many odd-time signature twists and turns and just the right amount of virtuosic playing to have an impact on lovers of all styles of music. The recording has commenced on some tracks and some sessions have been completed. The goal here is to make the recording and performances of the utmost quality, thus the need for funding to help pay the incredible session musicians involved. This project WILL happen and lovers of guitar music will not be disappointed.

What We Need & What You Get

Jason has begun to self finance the project although to have the level of musicianship that comes along with working with some of the world's finest musicians carries a relatively high expense. The money raised here will go directly towards paying the top studio musicians in the world (some of the names listed above). The fees to pay these musicians range anywhere from $250 to $1000 per track depending on the instrument and session details. The money will also be used to fund the artwork and mastering of the project which will be released as a digital download online. It will be available as a FLAC and mp3 download from Jason's website and also from many other online download retailers (iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon etc.) Those who pledge money will receive various perks depending on the amount of the pledge. Perks include downloads of Jason's previous projects, physical CD's and T-Shirts.

Other Ways You Can Help

Please help Jason complete this project by pledging and by sharing info about the project through other online and non-online sources. Your help and interest is much appreciated!

Dweezil Zappa: Tour Blog 2012 Part Two of 4

PART 2 of 4:

A journey through Frank's music can begin for anyone at any stage of his musical output and many people don't start from the very beginning. If you ever happen to have the opportunity to explore all of Frank's work chronologically I know you will be amazed by the metamorphosis that becomes evident. That's what happened to me in 2004 when I began preparing for this project. It gave me a great sense of the totality of his musical output and how it was all galvanized through thematic coherence.

It became obvious to me that if you circled back you would be able to recognize that he had all of the ingredients that made up his unique compositional style present right from the very beginning. He adroitly implanted the thematic clues of his project object like mile markers on an infinite highway. It mutated and refined itself while simultaneously becoming laser focused as he continued his musical journey.

Another one of Frank's great talents was his ability to recognize skills and talents that were present in musicians but remained untapped or under utilized. Frank was able to coax these abilities out of people and exploit them to great effect musically. George Duke confessed he never sang before Frank's band. He never had an interest in synthesizers until Frank encouraged him to explore their parameters. more

Neal Nagaoka: ESP LTD VB-300 Baritone Guitar demo

This is a collage of different ideas that I made using my ESP LTD VB-300 Baritone Guitar in HD. I thought this would be fun to try so I crammed as many different examples as I could think of while trying to make this video as short as possible. The guitar is tuned down a 4th so the string are: B E A D F# B with a 27" scale.

Keith Merrow: Pick Up Shoot out |
Which one(s) do you like out of these 4 pickups?
The same guitar and amp tone settings were used for each clip. I didn't change any tone settings so that I could give you a true result from each pickup. You'll have to listen really closely (maybe) to hear much of a difference. I chose pickups that were similar in output (ie: Warpig vs Invader, Aftermath vs Distortion). I've received a lot of emails regarding both these brands, so the purpose of the video is to show you what each of them sound like in a mix, with the same settings applied to all of them.

Signal chain- Strictly 7 "Spectral7" prototype guitar- Kemper Profiler (Mesa Dual Rec with Tubescreamer, Mesa Cab)- Profire 610 Interface- Presonus Studio One Pro (V2)
7 String bridge pickups- Bare Knuckle and Seymour Duncan, high gain comparisons (rhythm)

Lyle Watt: The Duke Of Argyll - acoustic

Yes, I know, I need a haircut. Badly.

Here's a new tune I wrote a few weeks ago, called ''The Duke Of Argyll'' - it's a bit more of a folky thing - it's nice to change things up once in a while. I borrowed my friend Steven's Yamaha acoustic for this, because it has a nice deep, rich sound. So thanks to Steven for letting me borrow his guitar, and thanks to Gary McCready for recording the audio.

Also, sorry for the lack of videos lately. I've been doing a lot of writing and recording recently, which hasn't left much time for videos. Hopefully that will change soon...
