In keeping with the label's time-honored tradition of shining a spotlight on newly-discovered artists whose immense musical talents challenge convention and defy categorization, MoonJune Records is pleased to offer the musical stylings of Serbian keyboardist, pianist and composer. Although hardly a household name outside Europe, Vasil has performed with a number of elite, renowned musicians (David Gilmore, Antonio Sanchez, Matt Garrison, David Binney, Nigel Kennedy and rock stars of the former Yugoslavia, Dado Topic and Vlatko Stefanovski, and his parents, the famous Macedonian pop and folk singer Zafir Hadzimanov and celebrated Croatian singer Senka Veletanlic). Vasil is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, in Boston.

"Alive" documents Vasil and his band in peak creative form, in front of an enthusiastic, most appreciative audience. The music is fresh and truly "Alive! -- unpredictable and unpretentious, at times, hypnotic, at times pushing the envelope and flattening boundaries. This is bold, adventurous music which pays homage to a variety of styles and influences – jazz, ethno-fusion, progressive rock –, while remaining free, spry and elusive in its own right.

This, their international record debut, is actually the band's sixth album. Since first forming more than 15 years ago, the Vasil Hadzimanov Band has performed hundreds of shows and been well received in numerous jazz festivals covering Europe, Eastern Europe and the Japan. This mesmerizing performance -- recorded in Belgrade, in 2014 and features as a special guest the well known American saxophonist David Binney – serves notice of yet another powerhouse of a musical treasure that MoonJune's Leonardo Pavkovic is proud to present; proving, yet again, that music which is truly "progressive" is not bound by convention or tradition, but is art which seeks out its own form and travels uncharted paths.

Ray Riendeau: Rhythmus - collection of solo bass compositions played exclusively on my 4 string RR Signature ZON bass

"Rhythmus" is a collection of solo bass compositions played exclusively on my 4 string RR Signature ZON bass. There are absolutely no bass overdubs, just one bass track on each song. Along with the bass various percussion textures were added to enhance the bass performances. The music is heavily influenced by flamenco, palmas and rhythms from around the world. PJ d'Atri: plays Bach - BWV 29 Cantata- another stunning classical interpretation

This is my electric guitar rendition of the beautiful and fantastic "Cantata" - BWV 29 by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) of my upcoming 2016 Album "Bach".
It is called "We thank you, God, we thank you" and was first performed as part of the inauguration ceremony of the Leipzig city council on August 27th, 1731 . It is one of my favourite Bach Cantatas and especially dedicated to my friend, the fantastic Jason Becker. I first saw this piece being played by Jason on his VHS "The legendary guitar of Jason Becker" when I was about 15 years old. He inspired me to learn it and I am very happy about that. Thanks Jason, I hope you're proud!
I also thank Dan Alvarez for his masterful playing and his beautiful arrangement of the piece and Mike Bemesderfer for Mastering.

Kristin Wong: Guitars stolen!!! Location downtown LA - please help find them!

This past Wednesday, I had the unsettling experience of getting my car broken into in Downtown LA. It's not only disheartening that my vehicle now has a gaping back passenger seat window covered haphazardly with Saran Wrap, but it is also extremely gutting to know they stole my livelihood, three guitars and my tracking laptop. One of the guitars was my first acoustic guitar ever, holding more sentimental value than actual monetary worth. The others were my first electric guitar, my Ibanez S470DXQM, which I learned how to install and solder the bridge pickup on my own (DiMarzio Evolution) when I was 16 years old, and my Schecter Avenger ATX, which I've taken all over the world with Nylon Pink and played it on our last tour with the She Demons. If any of you come across these items at a pawn shop, Craiglist, or know anyone that can miraculously find them, please let me know and share the post with your musician friends.

If you find anything let Kristin know:
