Michelle Meldrum: Lifer Pre Order

Michelle Meldrum died in May 2008 as a result of a cystic growth that had restricted oxygen and blood flow to her brain, rendering her braindead. Since she passed away before any of her guitar tracks for "Lifer" were laid down, Laura Christine played the majority of the rhythm and bass guitars, as well as all the leads, on the album as a tribute to Michelle and her vision.

Pre-order Meldrum’s upcoming release ”Lifer” featuring Gene Hoglan on drums and instantly receive a digital download of their latest single ”Paid” via e-mail. ”Lifer” will come as a digipak that includes a 8 page insert and cd. Partial proceeds from the album will go to MICHELLE MELDRUM’s son Jake Thomas who she left behind when she passed. Follow Meldrum online at http://www.facebook.com/MeldrumOfficial

Per Nilsson: Visa delays cause Scar Symmetry tour cancellation

Per Nilsson
NORTH AMERICANS can we have your attention please!

It is with deep regret that we bring you these news: due to unforeseen problems securing our US work visas in time, our North American headlining tour will have to be cancelled. The waiting time for a visa interview appointment was several weeks longer than what we've experienced before. Our sincere apologies to Threat Signal, Stealing Axion, Lord of War and Kings Field - you guys rule and we do hope for the opportunity to share a stage with you sometime in a not-to-distant future instead!

To our fans... we will work our asses off to make this up to you! Expect to see Scar Symmetry back in North America in 2013 - back with a vengeance!

Simon Kinny-Lewis: Boss eBand JS-10

Simon Kinny-Lewis demonstrates the new Boss eBand JS-10

The BOSS eBand JS-10 Jam Band system lets you turn any room into the perfect practice space. The ultimate guitar or bass trainer, your eBand JS-10 makes practicing as easy as plugging in, loading up your favorite tunes, and jamming along. Play back tracks from USB or SD media, and cut out the vocals with "minus-one" center cancelation technology. No need to cart around your pedalboard either. Thanks to built-in COSM modeling, you've got all of the killer guitar tones you need right onboard your eBand JS-10. And once you hear its thumping 2.1 sound system in action, you'll be happy to ditch your amp and rock out with just your axe and your BOSS eBand JS-10 Jam Band system.

Packed with excellent play-along tracks and loaded with practice tools
Getting started with your BOSS eBand JS-10 Jam Band is a piece of cake. Just plug in your guitar or bass and choose from over 350 incredible audio loops or from 50 fun, built-in songs. You can also load up your favorite tracks via SD card media or your USB flash memory drive. The eBand JS-10 also lets you slow down and transpose your music, making it easy to learn new parts and figure out intricate solos. You can even plug in a microphone and sing along. And when inspiration strikes, the eBand JS-10's built-in recorder lets you capture your song ideas before they fade away.

Rock out with two independent channels of top BOSS effects and COSM amp modeling
What more could you expect from the makers of many of the most popular guitar and bass stompboxes of all time than a suite of amazing effects built into your BOSS eBand JS-10 Jam Band? How about killer COSM amp models - the next best thing to carting around your full-size amp? In fact, your eBand JS-10 comes absolutely loaded with tones on par with those found in the flagship GT-100 multi-effects processor. What's more, you and a friend can both rock out with your eBand JS-10 and each enjoy totally independent effects, making it perfect for collaboration and music lessons.

Powerful 2.1 sound system makes your guitar tone spring to life
As good as their effects may be, most personal guitar trainers like the BOSS eBand JS-10 (even the ones with built-in speakers) simply fall short of the mark when it comes to producing truly satisfying sound unless you actually plug them into a real guitar amplifier. But when you play through your eBand JS-10, you'll be happy to leave your bulky amp in your band's rehearsal space. That's because BOSS loaded the eBand JS-10 with an impressive yet compact 2.1 sound system, by building a powerful little subwoofer right into the body. There's nothing like hearing your music in rich full-frequency detail complete with room-shaking bass.

Alex Lifeson, Steve Howe: Super Audio CD Rush and Yes albums on the way

Back in 2002 - the bad news
This is a copy of an reply email I received after going to rush.com and asking the question on the contact us section about the release of Rush SACD dates. The previouse Rush thread that suggested October 21st as a possible release date along with Rush in Rio. I became suspicious that the Rush disks werent going to be released at least in October when I could find nothing on the net suggesting they would be.
"Hi there,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I was waitingto hear back from someone regarding your question.Apparently there was talk of creating these specialty discsbut it is actually not going to happen. If we do hear ofany plans to produce these discs in the future we will letyou know.

Eddie Van Halen: Japanese dates posted

Van Halen had originally planned to play Japan in late November. But that was before Eddie Van Halen underwent surgery in August for diverticulitis, a condition resulting from pouches in the colon becoming inflamed.

Now, promoter Udo has listed new dates – June 21 at the Tokyo Dome and June 24 & 26 at Osaka’s City Central Gymnasium.
