Kiko Loureiro: talks to Horns Up Rocks about the Sounds Of Innocence

http://hornsuprocks.com/

The guitar skills of Kiko Loureiro (Pedro Henrique Loureiro) from Angra are widely recognized by legions of Heavy Music fans worldwide. You may remember when Angra broke into the music scene in the early 90s and how Kiko's guitar playing caught the attention of your beloved ear drums. Ever since then, his technique has only gotten better and smoother. This is ultimately what helped Kiko establish himself as one of the best guitarists to ever come from Latin America. Add some great song writing skills and you get quality records such as his latest solo album 'Sounds Of Innocence'.

On his latest solo album Kiko takes the listener through a roller coaster of guitar sounds that hit the soul and give you immediate goosebumps. Instrumental albums are very tricky since they really need to be well written and produced. Thankfully, Kiko nailed it on 'Sounds Of Innocence' and this record might be his best one yet. You be the judges.

On Monday, July 8, we met up with Kiko at Primary Wave Music in New York City to chat with him in detail about the production and vision of 'Sound Of Innocence' (available now via Victor Entertainment). We also discussed Angra's upcoming plans, surviving the music industry and the rise of South American Metal. Without further due, here is our exclusive interview with Kiko Loureiro!

Brennan Dylan: ripping it up for T.E.N. & Friends Contest

This is the second video I shot for T.E.N & Friends Contest. There was something just not right about the first one but I couldn't put my finger on it until I started playing yesterday. I'm sponsored by Gary Kramer Guitar and have 2 of their guitars. The one I usually use is called 'Animal' because its a wild SOB that was made to howl like a jungle beast and can take a pounding. That is the one I used for my 1st contest idea but I didn't really like it because the sound just wasn't there. 'Animal' is higher pitched than my orange GKG. So after a few tries yesterday I put 'Animal' back in its cage and gave my orange one a go. I thoroughly enjoyed playing to the backing track and am happy with the way this video turned out. I hope you enjoy it as well.

News: 9ELECTRIC is releasing its debut full length album this fall and need your help!

For years now it has become more and more obvious that the Sunset Strip is still very much alive with the sounds of rock and roll. Now local Electronic Hard Rock band 9Electric is ready to step up and join their friends at the next level as they attempt to crowd raise the funds to go worldwide.

Having toured with various popular metal and hard rock acts from Static-X and Butcher Babies, to Davey Suicide, Emmure, and Ill Nino, 9Electric have been dedicatedly building an ever growing fan base. The local rockers have already raised $20,000 on their own and are looking for fans, investors, and friends to get in on helping them make the second half and are willing to give away insane incentives to help get them there. They have the drive, they have a plan, and they have the album.

Album includes guest appearances from Wayne Static (Static-X) and Heidi Shepherd (Butcher Babies).

9Electric are available for interviews, press photos, and footage.

Rick Graham: the 365 day transformation coming soon!

Rick Graham
So I've decided to dedicate a page on my website to the transformation I made (did anyone notice? lol). It'll be up next week with pics and details on how I did it, diet, training routines, how I stayed motivated etc. There's just no way that I can reply to the sheer number of messages I've had regarding this. It's crazy. So if you have messaged me but not had a reply, my apologies. Will keep you updated with the transformation page. Have a great weekend!

I can't wait... looking forward to getting some tips!
