Exodus is an American thrash metal band formed in 1980 in Richmond, California.[1] Spanning a career of 34 years, Exodus has gone through numerous lineup changes, two extended hiatuses, and the deaths of two former band members. Their current lineup consists of vocalist Steve Souza, guitarists Gary Holt and Lee Altus, bassist Jack Gibson and drummer Tom Hunting. Hunting is one of the original members, and departed from Exodus twice, in 1989 and 2004, but rejoined in 2007. Holt joined the band shortly after its formation, and is the only member of Exodus to appear on all their releases.

Since its formation, Exodus has released ten studio albums, two live albums and two compilations. Along with Testament and Metallica, whose longtime lead guitarist Kirk Hammett was an original member of Exodus, they are often credited as pioneers of the Bay Area thrash metal scene,[2][3] and have sold over 5 million albums worldwide as of 2013.[4]

Exodus had particular success in the mid-to-late 1980s with their first three studio albums―Bonded by Blood, Pleasures of the Flesh and Fabulous Disaster. The critical praise given to Fabulous Disaster garnered attention from major labels, including Capitol Records, with whom Exodus would eventually sign in 1989. Exodus released two more studio albums (Impact Is Imminent and Force of Habit) before disbanding in 1993. After a temporary reunion in 1997-1998, Exodus reformed once again in 2001, and since then, they have released five more studio albums, the most recent being 2014's Blood In, Blood Out.

Christian Muenzner,Danny Tunker,Morean: Alkaloid - The Indiegogo campaign reached its goal

The Indiegogo campaign reached its goal

We want to thank you a million times for your support!!
Thanks to you the Alkaloid crowdfunding campaign reached its financial goal already!!!

Now we can start with the production of some products earlier to make sure that you will get your packages as soon as possible.
The campaign is running until the end of January and there is still a lot of exclusive material that you won't get anymore after the campaign is over.
The additional money that comes in now will be spend for the project EXCLUSIVELY! We want to ensure the highest quality level possible for this production and therefore we have a lot of expenses. Now we will have more possibilities to put an eye on the details and we can pay bills that we planned to pay out of our own pockets to make the album happen. Depending on how the campaign will end we will use the rest of the money for something productive. We'll keep you updated about that.
Let us know what you're interested in on Alkaloid's facebook page. What do you think about a music video?

Thank You!

Still time to join the campaign

Sam Birchall: .strandberg* ultra hybrid soloing

Sam Birchall: .strandberg* ultra hybrid soloing
Sam Birchall is an exciting new talent. His guitar skills reflect years of study and play which began seriously when he started a diploma course at famous London based Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, ICMP. Sam went on to study with Guitar World's Martin Goulding for a year. A step change in his playing came when he decided to take up correspondence study with Charlie Banacos ( ). These lesson really changed Sam's approach to playing.

Sam says: I can’t remember how I heard about Charlie. I think it was reading an interview with Wayne Krantz or Mike Stern, and his name kept popping up, so I found his website and wrote him a letter. He had such a great way for teaching the techniques of jazz improvisation and laying them out as raw material you can apply to any genre. It was all done on cassette tape too, so every 2 weeks I would get a cassette through the mail with him telling me what he wanted to hear me playing next. He really piled the pressure on as well to practice crazy amounts.
Currently Sam makes a living teaching, whilst working on my playing, and debut E.P. Sam says "My goal is to try and get a trio together to make modern metal/ fusion with lots of improvisation.
