Five-time Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum-selling blues/rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd has today confirmed that his new studio album, GOIN’ HOME will be released on May 5th through the Mascot Label Group.
Kenny Wayne will also embark on a 15-date whistle-stop tour of Europe to coincide with the album release, including a concert at London’s O2 Academy Islington on Wednesday 30th April.
For tickets go to www.kennywayneshepherd.net.
GOIN’ HOME is an exploration into the music of Kenny Wayne’s biggest influences, and features songs originally recorded by many of his musical heroes, such as B.B. King, Albert King, Bo Diddley, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny "Guitar" Watson and Lee Dorsey. He reached deep into their catalogues and chose songs that inspired him when he was learning to play the guitar.
The album includes guest performances by some of Kenny Wayne’s closest friends (who also happen to be some of the greatest musicians performing today), including Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Keb’ Mo’, Robert Randolph, Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Pastor Brady Blade, Sr. and the Rebirth Brass Band.
GOIN’ HOME follows Kenny’s involvement in the blues/rock supergroup THE RIDES, which features Shepherd alongside Stephen Stills (CSN / CSN&Y / Buffalo Springfield) and Barry Goldberg (Electric Flag). Their 2013 album "Can’t Get Enough" was critically acclaimed the world over and appeared in countless "Best Of 2013" album polls.
|Bill Haley and Franny Beecher (1958)|
Francis "Franny" Beecher (September 29, 1921 – February 24, 2014), also known as Frank Beecher, was the lead guitarist for Bill Haley & His Comets from 1954 to 1962, and is best remembered for his innovative guitar solos combining elements of country music and jazz. He composed the classics "Blue Comet Blues", "Goofin' Around", "Week End", and "Shaky" when he was the lead guitarist for Bill Haley and the Comets. He continued to perform with surviving members of the Comets into 2006. In 2012, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Beecher as a member of the Comets by a special committee, aimed at correcting the previous mistake of not inducting the Comets with Bill Haley.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franny_Beecher

Studio Jams #62 - "Europa"
New album to feature guest appearances by Rodrigo y Gabriela, Alexi Laiho, Danko Jones and more; European tour with Gus G to kick off May 1
Widely respected as the most influential lead guitarist in thrash metal history, MARTY FRIEDMAN has confirmed the final track listing for "Inferno," his first solo album of original material in four years, and his first recording in more than a decade that will be released worldwide simultaneously.
Due out in late May via Prosthetic Records (except in Japan, where the album will be released by Universal Music), "Inferno" -- recorded primarily in Los Angeles with engineer Chris Rakestraw (Danzig, Children of Bodom) and mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth) -- features what FRIEDMAN recently told Guitar World is "the most intense writing and playing I can do." The album also includes notable guest appearances by several artists influenced by FRIEDMAN, including flamenco/metal acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, Children of Bodom front man Alexi Laiho, Skyharbor mastermind Keshav Dhar and Revocation guitar whiz David Davidson, as well as FRIEDMAN's first songwriting collaboration with Jason Becker since the pair played together in Cacophony, the pioneering duo of guitar mayhem.
In addition, "Inferno" breaks all genre rules and creates new ones with an exhilarating and musically daring mash-up with Jørgen Munkeby of the acclaimed "blackjazz" act Shining, as well as two tracks featuring vocals by rock guru Danko Jones. Overall, "Inferno" is by far FRIEDMAN's most thrilling and adventurous effort to date. The full track listing is as follows:
3. Wicked Panacea (feat. Rodrigo y Gabriela)
4. Steroidhead (feat. Keshav Dhar)
5. I Can't Relax (feat. Danko Jones)
6. Meat Hook (feat. Jørgen Munkeby)
7. Hyper Doom
8. Sociopaths (feat. David Davidson)
9. Lycanthrope (feat. Alexi Laiho & Danko Jones)
11. Horrors (co-written by Jason Becker)
12. Inferno -reprise-
"Steroidhead" -- hailed by Rolling Stone as a "mix of searing solos and chugging prog-metal riffs" -- was unveiled last month prior to the annual NAMM convention, where FRIEDMAN introduced a new Paul Reed Smith signature series guitar and performed live before capacity crowds at the PRS and Roland/Boss demonstration booths.
"I'm extremely proud of the work I've done with Cacophony and Megadeth, but I was never interested in looking back or stopping there," FRIEDMAN says. "'Inferno' is the album that fans of my work with those two bands have always wanted me to make. I've finally made it, and completely on my own maniacal terms."
FRIEDMAN will kick off a world tour for "Inferno" in May, when he teams with Gus G for a European tour. Dates are listed below. Soon after, FRIEDMAN will return to America for his first tour of his home country in more than a decade. Stay tuned for further information.

Kickstarter Pre-order and help me fund new merchandise so we can make the album release something amazing.
I am a solo progressive metal musician from London. I am about to release my debut album entitled CURVE - a record written, recorded and produced entirely by myself. I want to make the album release something special, for me and for everyone who has shown me love and I aim to do this by creating an excellent physical release, some new merchandise, and offering an exciting release experience.
The art was created by A Curious Bestiary - Art by Kaitlin Beckett, especially for CURVE.
The reality is, small bands struggle for money. By struggle, we mean 'don't make any'. Doing things as a solo artist makes funding things close to impossible. Music is my art, and I give it away for free. Merchandise and a physical release are ways to enhance my music and get it out to people - that's why I like doing it, and Miroist can become bigger and better through it. However, though I can make music at home, merchandise has initial costs that are prohibitively expensive for a guy on his own. I am unable to afford the initial merch costs - I need you.
I have put together the backer options you see on the right. You will get something from each of these that you will only be able to get as a Kickstarter backer - from getting your name in the liner notes, to gaining access to an exclusive Google Hangout album listening session 2 days before the album is released! With the exception of the 'T-Shirt Only' and 'Vinyl Only' offers, all bundles are incremental - you get everything that came before too!
Miroist's new two-track single '29%', available for free download exclusively from got-djent.com!

Both tracks on the single will also be featured on the upcoming full-length 'Curve', due for release on March 13th!

Ahead of the April 7th release of Black Label Society’s new studio album Catacombs of the Black Vatican, Mascot Label Group are streaming the first single “My Dying Time” via Soundcloud.

Formed by Zakk Wylde in the late 90s, Black Label Society have remained at the forefront of the heavy metal genre. Alongside Black Label, Wylde served as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist for over 20 years. This collaboration led to a string of multi-platinum albums, including Osbourne’s biggest selling "No More Tears," for which Wylde wrote all the music.
Catacombs of the Black Vatican is BLS’s first new studio album since 2009’s The Order of the Black, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.

|Romain Roo Chapus,Mika Tyyskä: Plectrum Spectrum|
Roo is back with fast melodic songs, electric flying licks, ambient interludes and a bit of fusion. This darker episode, that leaves away the bluesy phrases of Guitar Without a Cause pays tribute to influences such as Joe Satriani and Marty Friedman.
Recorded with the RooBand (Jaakko Nikko, Juke Eräkangas and Timo Aula), Plectrum Spectrum hosts a guest guitar solo from Mr. Fastfinger.
