Christie Lenée: Raining a Miracle - The Engle and Gryphon

The amazing Christie Lenée. I met Christie at NAMM, her technique and originality are amazing. Check Christie's playing out on this video.

Christie Lenee
The Engle and Gryphon Guitar are such a beautiful combination! Here is "Raining a Miracle" from the upcoming instrumental record. This piece was a discovery of using an ostinato pattern on the lower strings with The Engle, while tapping the upper strings with my left hand. It felt like a miracle hence the name. Thanks for watching!

News: IK Multimedia Releases AmpliTube® Jimi Hendrix™

IK Multimedia Releases AmpliTube® Jimi Hendrix™
Anniversary Collection
Stunning new models expand IK's Hendrix software lineup;
all gear is also available individually in the Custom Shop

February 7th, 2013 - IK Multimedia, in collaboration with Authentic Hendrix, LLC, is proud to announce the AmpliTube® Jimi Hendrix™ Anniversary Collection, an expanded and updated version of its renowned AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ software for Mac and PC, featuring new officially licensed, ultra-accurate models of genuine Hendrix gear. The updated set provides users with even more options for tapping into Jimi's legendary sonic artistry.

Named to commemorate the recent 70th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's birthday, the new collection runs inside the AmpliTube Custom Shop software, which can be used as a DAW plug-in or as a standalone application, featuring a built-in 4-track recorder and speed-trainer. In addition to being released in the collection, all the Hendrix models are now available for à la carte purchase from the Custom Shop.

Sonic Voodoo
The new gear was modelled using IK's state-of-the-art modelling technology, resulting in remarkably authentic representations of the original units. The collection expands the acclaimed AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ gear lineup of 4 amps, 7 cabinets, 5 microphones, 10 stomps and 4 rack effects, with 3 new amp models and a classic tape echo. Combined, there are 34 pieces of must-have vintage guitar and bass equipment, all of which have helped define the history of rock and modern music.

New gear in the collection:

The SilverTwelve (model is based on the Silvertone® Twin Twelve 1484) is a 60W tube head with a separate 2x12 cabinet, which Hendrix used in the early part of his career. The amp produces a powerful clean sound and a gritty distortion, and has stood the test of time from the psychedelic era through the Grunge period and into today's modern rock.

The JH Gold (model based on a Marshall® JTM 45) is "the" amp that Hendrix used almost exclusively from 1968 on. He liked to crank it to full volume and chain multiple heads to produce a huge, mind-blowing wall of sound. The new model has been reworked from the ground up, using IK's DSM™ and SCC™ modelling technologies, and includes both the Normal and Treble channels, plus fully modelled channel bridging.

The JH 1200 (model based on the Sunn® 1200), is a high-powered tube bass head. Concertgoers at any Hendrix show between 1967 and 1968 would have seen an entire backline consisting of Sunn amps and cabinets. As with many amps from the psychedelic era, the ultra-loud 1200 was popular with both guitarists and bass players.

The EP Tape Echo (model based on the Maestro® Echoplex) is the gold standard of vintage tape-echo units. Hendrix liked experimenting with it to produce wild psychedelic effects in the studio, and he used it heavily during the recording of Electric Ladyland.

Open to All
Because all the Hendrix models are available in the Custom Shop, users of other AmpliTube versions, including the free AmpliTube Custom Shop, have access to these models for individual purchase.
The Custom Shop is the IK exclusive online gear shop and is integrated into AmpliTube software and plug-ins. It provides users with a huge range of amps, cabinets, microphones and effects that can be purchased individually. The "Try Before You Buy" feature makes it possible to download a fully functioning version of any model to audition it prior to purchase.

The AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ Anniversary Collection is the latest addition to the IK family of guitar and bass products that, thanks to IK's unmatched modelling technologies, offers products with the best names in guitar effects and amplification such as Fender™, Ampeg®, Orange®, Soldano™, Seymour Duncan™, T-Rex®, and the rock icon Slash™.

Pricing and Availability
The full version of AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ Anniversary Collection is available for €79.99 (ex VAT), as a digital serial-number delivery that can be purchased inside the AmpliTube Custom Shop or from the IK Online Store. Previous users of AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ and AmpliTube 3 are be eligible for a special upgrade price of only €29.99 (ex VAT) for a limited time. Each of the new models will also be available individually inside the AmpliTube Custom Shop with a price ranging from 20 to 30 Gear Credits - the currency used inside the Custom Shop for single gear purchases.

Joe McGurk: Opposing Motion announce Laws Of Motion CD

Opposing Motion are comprised of Ludovic Desa (vocals), Joe McGurk (guitars), David Deplanche (bass) and Kevin Deplanche (drums)and their sound is reminiscent of iconic bands such as Royal Hunt, Seventh Wonder, Fates Warning, Symphony X, Crimson Glory and also newer power/prog bands ala Circus Maximus, Pagan’s Mind, Above symmetry.

With the release of a self released debut EP recorded at the famous Robannas Studios in Birmingham 2010, Opposing Motion have rapidly become known in the prog-metal genre at the national and international levels. Composed of experienced musicians, all active on the UK and France session scene, the band weaves highly melodic and orchestral tapestries mixing technical pieces, intricate musicianship and offering a fresh outlook on the prog-genre bringing together flamenco, classic rock, NWOBHM and progressive rock influences.

With several top tier high street magazine features and numerous excellent reviews on the international metal scene, “The Illustration” EP (2010) set the foundations for their eagerly awaited full-length debut album.

2012 saw the band recorded their first debut album entitled “Laws of Motion” and have now teamed up with prog metal specialists and recognised label LION MUSIC to bring their music to the scene on 11th May 2013.

Full details on “Laws Of Motion” to follow shortly.

Michael Angelo Batio,Rusty Cooley,Jeff Loomis: added to upcoming Intermezzo release

Michael Angelo Batio: Hi everyone. I recently went from the NAMM Show in Southern California, where I signed autographs, in addition to performing 5 shows, for total of 8 days, to Florida to do some work at Dean Guitars - autographing an entire shipment of the new MAB 7 Warrior Guitars and now I am back recording. There has been a change (for the better) in the recording schedule. I spoke with Elliott Dean Rubinson, owner of Dean Guitars at NAMM and we decided to record a new track that has been written more for his style. We have just finished the Drum tracks on the song, next are the Rhythm Guitars and then Elliott will record the Bass track, then Keyboards, then the Lead Guitars. There is also an extra surprise on this song, which is also why I decided to add a new one rather than modify songs that I feel are already exactly the way t hey should be. In addition to having Elliott on Bass, virtuoso guitarists Rusty Cooley (a solo artist and Dean Guitar endorsee) plus Jeff Loomis (Nevermore and a solo artist) are doing guest Guitar Solos on this new song. I know everyone is anxious to hear sound samples and of course, the entire "Intermezzo" album. I'm anxious for this as well! Again, once I get to the Lead Guitar stage, which will start soon after we complete this new song, I will post sound samples and video. Thanks again for your support! Rock, Michael

Nicholas Llerandi: wins #MayonesDuncan competition

Nicholas Llerandi Like a boss!

The votes from the artist jury have just arrived and we would like to congratulate Nicholas Llerandi on winning a Regius 7 Custom from Mayones Guitars Basses and all the finalists who have won a set of pickups. Most of all, we want to thank all of you who uploaded videos - there were so many great videos and talent that it makes it nearly impossible to choose any amount of winners. Here is the entry Nicholas posted: http://bit.ly/VClmAV

What kind of giveaway or competition would you most like to see next?

Thanks for watching :) and thank you Keith Merrow, Mayones Guitars, and Seymour Duncan Pickups for your support. *TABS / NOTATION* - http://everforthright.com/solo.php

-In this particular solo I am not utilizing many different modes, nor is there any diminished scale or whole tone. All of the lines come from a hard-bop/ bebop approach of implying changes that are not being played by the rhythm section (except for the Lord Xenu... scale). This is especially fun to take advantage of when the harmony is very straight forward (Impressions, So What?, Little Sunflower, etc.), but is certainly not limited to simpler tunes. Some of my favorite guitarists that use this technique include:
Ben Monder
David Fiuczynski
Liberty Ellman
Marc Ducret
Wayne Krantz
Nir Felder
Adam Rogers

Hope that helps! :D

Jelena Kiric: Sign of Sirin is ready to recruit a 2nd guitarist

Jelena Kiric
Attention guitarists !!!

My band Sign of Sirin is ready to recruit a 2nd guitarist. Besides the obvious, like having dedication & transportation, we need someone who can do both rhythm and leads as most of my parts have harmonies! Plus I am a huge fan of dual leads and don't believe in having a 'rhythm' and a 'lead' player. Check out the rough demo song we have up now.

The first album is already written so we would expect you to pay your dues by learning all of the parts first and maybe contributing some of your own leads when we record. Then you will be a fully creative member when it comes time to write the 2nd album. Message me if you are interested!!! And please spread the word.
