Shuggie Otis: Releases New 7" Single, Announces First Leg Of 2016 European Tour

Los Angeles, CA - R&B guitar legend Shuggie Otis is preparing a massive comeback that is sure to make the music world sit up and listen. 2016 will see the release of a brand new solo album from this much revered singer-songwriter-guitarist, his first since the 1974 all-time classic Inspiration/Information. That’s right, fans have waited more than 40 years for a new Shuggie album, and this month they can get a taste of what awaits them by picking up the Ice Cream Party 7”, which will be released on November 27 as part of the Black Friday Record Store Day promotion. This spectacular new jam finds Shuggie exploring his psychedelic side while turning in an explosive, guitar-heavy performance. The 7” will be available in a limited edition gold vinyl pressing.

Shuggie is also pleased to announce the first leg of his European tour, which will kick off in Paris on February 17. Nobody brings as much soul, style, and swagger to a live performance as Shug with his signature red Gibson SG, and fans who have followed this multi-talented performer’s tumultuous career know that a Shuggie Otis concert is not an event to be missed. Whether it be the fabulous grooves of “Inspiration Information” or the funkdafied rhythm of the stone-cold classic “Strawberry Letter 23,” Shuggie’s songs have a magical sway over audiences, both young and old, guaranteed to get them on their feet and dancing in the aisles!

The son of renowned bandleader and musician Johnny Otis, Shuggie Otis began his incredible career at the tender age of 15, playing as a session guitarist alongside Al Kooper before releasing his first solo album Here Comes Shuggie Otis in 1970. Already being hailed as a uniquely skillful guitarist, Shuggie proved his mettle as a songwriter the following year with the hit single “Strawberry Letter 23” from his second solo album. Now one of the most sampled songs in all of modern music, “Strawberry Letter 23” became an even bigger smash when The Brothers Johnson recorded their version in 1977 (produced by Quincy Jones). After the release of his third album Inspiration Information failed to meet outsized expectations, Shuggie seemed to retire permanently from music. But, thankfully, he reemerged in 2013 with a deluxe reissue of Inspiration Information as well as a live CD & DVD Live In Williamsburg. Now, Shuggie is about to embark on the comeback of a lifetime, and his adoring fans stand ready to re-embrace him!

Joe Satriani: Ready for 2016 Tour - Takes Home "The Maestro" at 11th Annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards

Takes Home “The Maestro” Award at the 11th Annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards

Los Angeles, CA – November 19, 2015 Following his successful European tour, JOE SATRIANI is looking ahead to the North American “Surfing to Shockwave” 2016 tour. This much-anticipated tour launches February 25th in Seattle continuing through April 24th in Vancouver, BC, with a new date announced in the Philadelphia Area (see below for the full tour itinerary). The 45-date tour will celebrate SATRIANI’s 30-year career including music from his first solo album, Not of this Earth through his latest release, his 15th solo album, Shockwave Supernova.

The tour promises to be a highlight for any long time SATRIANI fan. Of course, the set list will contain fan favorites, but the legendary guitarist also promises to include some gems, pulled from the ‘Satriani Songbook’ which may not have ever been performed live, or in some cases, for a very long time. Songs such as: “Big Bad Moon,” “Friends”, “Crystal Planet”, “Not Of This Earth”, “Luminous Flesh Giants” and “If I Could Fly” have been confirmed as part of the set list.

The European tour was a critical success with Graffiti.Punctuated praising the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre show, saying, "Joe Satriani is a magician…he’s the real deal, performing seemingly impossible feats right before your eyes. No smoke. No mirrors. Just magic." While theBirmingham Mail declared, “Guitarist Joe Satriani performed a mesmerizing and thrilling set” and Classic Rock Magazine said of the Cardiff stop, “…the new material from Shockwave Supernova hits home – the soaring On Peregrine Wings, the fun Crazy Joe … and sweetly lyrical Butterfly And Zebra, but as ever it’s the old staples that elicit the most love – Always With Me Always With You … the sole vocal piece, Blue Dream’s Big Bad Moon … and must-have Surfing With The Alien has us all up on our feet at the close.”

Last week, Joe attended the 11th Annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour Award ceremony in London where Joe took home the award for “The Maestro” and was honored to present Brian May of Queen with the “Living Legends” award as well!

Joe’s touring band remains Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson/Aristocrats) on drums, Bryan Beller (Dethklok/Aristocrats) on bass andMike Keneally (Steve Vai/Dethklok) on keys & guitar.

Pete Petty: My 3 Sons - Who's We? new album - high energy fusion trio with strong roots in rock and funk.

Pete Petty (guitar); Bobby Patterson (bass); Kenny Soule (drums); Mark Wells (organ); John Custer, Bobby Patterson (vocals)

My 3 Sons, led by guitarist/composer Pete Petty, is a high energy fusion trio with strong roots in rock and funk. On bass is Bobby Patterson (DAG, Go There). On drums is Kenny Soule (DAG, Go There, Nantucket, PKM, Mary McBride, Demolition String Band). Sharing musical roots in Raleigh, NC, the trio formed in 1987 and performed and recorded for three years. Back together again after two decades of pursuing other projects, My 3 Sons has recaptured the original spark - and then some.

Led by Grammy Award-nominated producer, artist and long-time friend, John Custer (Dag, Cry of Love, Corrosion of Conformity), "Who's We?" offers a taste of the trio's big sound. Thanks to the talents of engineer Ian Schreier of Manifold Recording, these tracks were recorded live with minimal overdubs to capture the dynamics and tone of a high-energy My 3 Sons performance. The addition of Mark Wells on organ adds a new dimension to My 3 Sons well-developed sound.

Hold on tight to cover plenty of musical ground, with tracks ranging from the power rock trio-influenced "Twenty Cents Short," "239" and "I'm Just Sayin'," to the jazz feel of "That's Messed Up," to the funk-inspired "Or You Could Play That" and "Pick Your Spot." The trio lightens it up with tracks like "Who's We?" and "A Good Conversation" to create a well-rounded set of new and favorite tunes.
