Jesus Oliva: Berklee scholarship audition

This is my audition for the 5 week program at Berklee. It contains three songs. I was going to upload 3 different videos but I ended up putting the all into this video.
The first song is "City Nights" by Allan Holdsworth, the second one is an improvisation on F#m showing the majority of my skills over a track I made on Band in a Box, and the last one is the solo section of the song "In the Name of God" by Dream Theater.
I really hope you enjoy it and I hope to get to this prestigious program.

Okay guys, we have some very exciting news regarding the release of our album. Unfortunately we cannot reveal what it is just yet but here is the first review to give you an idea as to what to expect.....

The Colourless Sunrise - Full Album Teaser

The wait is over and believe me this was worth the wait. Prospekt blend extreme technicality, power, and melody and created their own unique brand of metal. As I said, imagine Symphony X and Circus Maximus collaborated but took their skills to a whole new level? That would be Prospekt "The Colourless Sunrise", yes, they are that good. The artwork is beautiful yet dark compliments of the mighty Mattias Noren. Simply a brilliant opus and future classic of nearly 70 minutes of pure ear candy http://razormetal.webs.com/reviews

Tom Quayle: Wampler Pedals - Dual Fusion

http://www.wamplerpedals.com/signatur...

The Dual Fusion pedal from Wampler Pedals is, we think, the first overdrive pedal specifically voiced to the new breed of fusion guitarists.

Fusion in its current form is a fairly new concept, with roots not only in theoretical jazz but rock; not classic blues based rock, but the more technically advanced "shredders" that first became popular in the mid to late 80's.

The new fusion players have spent years honing their craft. With the advent of internet guitar lessons, people all over the world are looking towards fusion as the new style of musical expression, the modern era of soloists that are taking the instrument another stage further.

One of the forerunners of this genre is Tom Quayle. Tom is the UK's finest and most in demand exponent of modern fusion. With a rich theoretical knowledge, a student base that contains not only "regular" players but also some absolute stellar names in the industry, and a pair of ears that are completely unforgiving he has never been able to locate a pedal he can use that allows him to be the guitarist he truly is.

When we first met Tom in early 2012, he was already using our Euphoria and Paisley Drive stacked together to give him the tones he required. But something wasn't quite right; those pedals are voiced for other genres of music altogether so we set about honing the tones to match his style of playing. He needed more transparency, a tighter and controlled response on the bass end and when stacked up they needed to sound and feel like an amp running at high levels and give each string complete clarity and response.

Over a year later, we have the Dual Fusion. With two independent circuits that are based, but are completely modified, on the Euphoria and Paisley Drive, Tom finally has a tone that can be used when he is in full flow as a musician.

The Wampler Pedals Dual Fusion, the first pedal to be specifically voiced for the fastest growing breed of musicians around. With the most versatile stacking/signal path options available on an analog pedal, it is the foundation of modern Fusion... Add into the the versatility you expect from Wampler Pedals, the Dual Fusion will appeal to guitarists from all genre's at all levels.

Greg Koch: demos Saul Koll guitars at NAMM 2013

Wildwood is back with this year's rundown of everything awesome at the 2013 Winter NAMM Convention, and in this video we sit down with Saul Koll of Koll Guitars to talk about what's new from Koll Guitars! Check it out!

Site: http://bit.ly/YYtquL
Greg Koch: bit.ly/Tyw4El
Facebook: on.fb.me/VO2m3L

~ Saul Koll ~
The Premier Builders Guild shows no shortage of mastery, and Saul Koll of Koll Guitars is no exception. As a life-long musician Koll spent much of his life behind the seat of various axes figuring out what worked, what didn't, what he liked, and what he didn't like--the result an amalgamation of all of the best qualities combined. Koll Guitars is the coming together of vintage and modern; accessible to all, and appealing beyond all reason. His guitars are sleek, sexy, and downright funky. With help from master luthiers Jon Peterson, Glen Mers, and Gene Baker, Koll Guitars are an up-and-coming force to reckon with. Wield or submit.

~ Greg Koch ~
Hailing from the frigid wasteland of northern Wisconsin comes a beast the likes of which the world has never known. Greg Koch, a beast of both persona and guitar-mastery, couples his sickeningly magnetic personality with the guitar to create a style of playing that is both completely unique and deplorable at the same time. As a huge fan of the legendary Big Jim Hendricks Greg has taken all that is good and righteous about blues guitar and warped it into a ridiculously fantastic amalgamation of melodic defilement and mind-blowing creativity. Over the years Greg has shared the stage with everyone from Joe Bonamassa to Les Paul himself, never relenting, never ceasing to bring the ruckus.

Adia: The 7 Eyes - Stone Free - Electric Violin!

Adia: http://www.adiasound.com/

Adia http://www.adiasound.com/ is an American neo-soul rock violinist, singer and songwriter. Her music is a reflection of her diverse musical background; a blend of classic and alternative rock infused with blues and soul undertones.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI; Adia enrolled in her first violin lessons when she was just three and a half years old. Her talent was unquestionable throughout  her musical studies, which culminated in a Master of Music degree in violin performance from DePaul University in Chicago.
When she wasn’t busy practicing the violin, Adia was singing soul, funk and R&B; drawing inspiration from artists like Lauryn HillStevie Wonder and Erykah Badu. But it wasn’t until 2003 that  Adia got a glimpse of the artist she was to become, when she met legendary Croatian blues rock guitarist Nikola Sarapa.
“He was a beast!” Adia recalls, “He would play these killer solos with incredible speed.” Adia had found her mentor. Nikola quickly exposed Adia to one of the greatest players of all time: Jimi Hendrix. “It completely redefined everything that I wanted to be as a violinist and a musician,” she remembers. “ I wanted to sound like that.”
Over the next several years, Adia spent countless hours jamming to Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Slash, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, Van Halen, and other guitar legends. She went beyond studying their tricks and techniques, ultimately connecting with the visceral power behind their music.
The process worked, as Adia eventually molded her influences into her own unique playing style. She started backing up numerous Chicago bands, mesmerizing fellow musicians and unsuspecting audiences with her improv chops, bluesy jams, and powerful voice.  After a couple of years, she felt it was time to focus on her own songs.
Adia combines the raw power of rock with the soulful R&B she grew up with, writing music that is both unique and diverse; from the riff-heavy Americana-style “Hustler” to the dark, hard-driving “Demons”, to the beautifully serene “Ferris Wheel”. “I don’t limit my music to one particular type”, she explains.
In late 2011, Adia teamed up with some of Chicago’s finest: Matt Nelson on keyboards, Geoff Lowe on bass, Chris Sieboldand Pat Fleming on guitars, and Jonathan Marks on drums; to form the live band Adia & The 7 Eyes. They released their first recording Live from The Alley in May 2012. The performance features three of Adia’s original songs, as well as a powerful rendition of Jimi Hendrix’s “Stone Free”http://www.adiasound.com/

Renaud Louis-Servais: Iluna fusion album available

Renaud Louis-Servais Group: Iluna

Renaud Louis-Servais: guitars
Henri Dorina: bass

Alain Bidot-Naude: drums
Pierre Acourt: keyboards

Brand New Release (2011) from the french guitarist-composer Renaud Louis-Servais and his band. Creativity, inspiration and virtuosity... a real pleasure to the ear.

Renaud Louis-Servais was born in France in 1972. Thanks to his father, a classic guitar player, he started playing the guitar at the age of 8. Growing older, he played many gigs in Paris clubs with rock cover bands, and progressively his musical influences became many and varied (metal, jazz, fusion, prog-rock…). Listening to guitar players such as John Mc Laughlin, Pat Metheny, Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale or Allan Holdsworth helped him build his own guitar-playing style. He created the fusion band ILUNA in 2000 where he met Alain Bidot-Naude (drums) and Henri Dorina (bass). The band was semi-finalist in 2008 and 2009 in ISC (International Songwriting Competition) with three of their tunes : "Theme d'Iluna", "Euria" and "Gimmick". In 2010, Franck Guicherd (keyboards/trumpet) joined the band, which became the RENAUD LOUIS-SERVAIS GROUP. In 2011, the first album “Iluna” was recorded and mixed by Steve Prestage (Peter Gabriel, Gino Vannelli, Garry Moore…) and released.
