Magnus Olsson: demos Ibanez RG350MZ & RG350DXZ from crafton

Magnus Olsson is back playing his Ibanez guitar as can be plainly seen from this recent video. However, his shoulder is not completely healed and he's have trouble with arm articulation, so I know this guitar playing is looking good, but this really is a "Grace Under Pressure" scenario.

Magnus Olsson:
A short presentation/demo of Ibanez RG Standard 350MZ and 350DXZ.
This is only a few of the way these guitars can sound.
Don't see this video as a complete sound clip for how the guitars can sound, just see it as some examples of who it can be used and sound.
Another amp, other hands, even another day and it would sound totally different.
You can even play slow on them...
You will never really know until you try one yourself.
So go to your local music dealer and try one the way you want it to be played and the way you want it to sound.
I don't think you will be disappointed, it is a lot of guitar for the money.
Please don't judge my sloppy and boring laying too hard, I have a badly broken left shoulder and have massive problems playing properly.
Sorry about that.
More info about the guitars you find here.

Allan Holdsworth: stunning Canton Custom guitars revealed

Canton guitar reveal the stunning Allan Holdsworth custom guitars. Allan is one of the best guitar players on the planet, he's plowed his own furrow, may be an iconoclast to the world of jazz guitar... and all his hard work sets him as a leader and trend setter in the world of legato fusion guitar (even if he would never say so himself, being a very modest man). So nice to see Canton delivering such high quality and originality, working with Allan Holdsworth, to a special guitar http://www.cantoncustomguitars.com/Allan_Holdsworth.html

Alberto Rigoni: Guitar World interview

GUITAR WORLD: How did the dynamic change in terms of writing for a solo album as opposed to in a band setting?

I think that in a band setting, generally the writing process is more difficult or complex because you have to mix and adjust the different tastes and the point of view of each member to reach the final result.

In a word, you have to reach the compromise; not in a bad way, but in a meaningful way -- most of the time. This compromise could be avoided if only one member of the band leads the compositions. That happens, for example, in my progressive rock band TwinSpirits, where all the songs are composed by poly-instrumentist Daniele Liverani, although the other musicians have enough freedom to rearrange their own parts.

In my solo project, I have absolute freedom. I just follow my own sensitivity and sensibility. From the very beginning of my solo career, I didn’t want to follow any given music genre, relying exclusively on an instinctive way of composing. The result is an extreme variety of music genres, which is my strength, I think (and hope).

Solo projects also allow for utilization of the guest artist's musical signature (tone, rhythmic or harmonic/melodic approach). more

Mattias IA Eklundh,Guglielmo Malusardi: The Shred Baron gets a name check

My good friend Guglielmo Malusardi had showed up from Italy to introduce me and Tony’s band. He is a true gem and always a real treat to hang out with. Thank you for coming and for taking part in the Night of the Guitar happening.

I am not a jamming kind of guy. It took me many years to come to this conclusion. If jams were interesting and everyone were listening to one another I would have loved it. Usually it is a mere showing off event where the players simply try to outdo each other. Nothing interests me more than making music on the spot but so often when invited to jam it is full blast from start to finish (in one key or a blues run at best) leaving no room for dynamics or interesting harmony. more IA goings on
