Zakk Wylde: You have to have a reason to get out of bed every day

http://www.theaureview.com/ interview
You say you still love playing, but what motivates you to get out of your bed each morning and keep doing what you do?

You have to have a reason to get out of bed every day, man. You really do. Like when my Dad retired from General Motors, that was like the worst thing that ever happened to him. He was like lost. Once he got a job up at a gas station and he was back talking with people again, he had a reason to get up.

I mean, if you and me opened up a lemonade stand, we’d have the one lemonade stand so let’s open up another one down the road and this n’ that, the whole thing is we gotta get more cups, we gotta get more stuff; it’s all about keeping our business going.
I mean my kids are sittin’ around sayin’ “I’m bored!” and I just say you should never be bored. Ever. I got a million things going on every day on the Black Label shit to do list. A million things going on. I mean it’s everything. Whether we’re doing Black Label beef jerky, Black Label beer, Black Label coffee, new artwork, new merch, I’m involved with everything. And I love it. Aside from us practicing and us doing the band and the music, then we set up the tour and think what we’re gonna do with that, yada yada yada, there’s just a million things outside of even just the music.

Richard Lainegard:: Deeflexx goes NAMM

Richard Lundmark – Deeflexx goes NAMM

Richard just wrote he has checked the Deeflexx at rehearsals and was very blown away by the even distribution of TONE in the room.

“A regular Beam Blocker can not perform even a part of the Deeflexx’s functions, instead of the low-mid boost associated with a Beam Blocker, you get a big, fat AND clear sound out of a 2×12 cab everywhere in the room/venue.”

He will use the Sound Deflection System for all upcoming gigs. He will even bring it to the NAMM Show, where he will perform for Leqtique effects, in Hall E, booth #1143.

“I can’t image a better solution for performing at trade shows such as NAMM, or doing clinics in packed venues. With the Deeflexx, all passers-by will hear the same guitar tone regardless of where they are in relation to the booth, PERFECT!”

Richard will also be using the Deeflexx for performances at Musikmesse Frankfurt, Tokyo Guitar Show and the new NAMM Russia in Moscow during the spring.

Ben Kuzay,Joel Wanasek: Bass man release third CD

Ben Kuzay (ex-Monstrosity, ex-Wykked Wytch) just released his third solo album 'Beyond Black Mirrors'. His previous album 'Perpetual Reign' featured guest appearances by several acclaimed musicians, including David Harbour (ex-King Diamond). This new cd features Kuzay playing all of the bass guitar, keyboards and guitar, with Allen Sklar on drums.

The disc was produced by Kuzay and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Joel Wanasek at JTW Studios (Rosaline, Serianna, Mechanical Kids), as were his first two offerings. 'Beyond Black Mirrors' had additional engineering done by Barry Kuzay at The Wolf Tower.

While Kuzay is best-known for his work in the metal genre, having played alongside such illuminaries as Richard Christy, David Harbour, and Joel Wanasek, and having worked with engineers such as Jason Suecof (Audiohammer Studio), this new offering is a work of ambient rock, with forays into classical. The cd is all-instrumental and features fourteen tracks, totaling 56 minutes

Camila Simont: music for guitar harp and cello

Well folks, this is a composition of mine. It is for harp, cello and guitar. It is a work of composition of the faculty where I had to write a piece of between 6 and 10 minutes for 3 instruments. The style is popular (through "crossover erupt") and the tonal structure of my choice. We recorded Angela Duarte, Rodrigo Prado and I on 2 / 12. We only had two rehearsals and recorded all playing at the same time in the studio and without editing rhythms wrong or off-notes. Tbm no proper mixing and mastering for lack of time in ocasição ... so forgive any mistakes. But it's there:) I consider myself a songwriter too immature yet, but I liked to record, I have other compositions for different formations and other styles tbm (more contemporary, less, songs etc) and this was the first that I recorded! I really liked the experience.

Guthrie Govan,Jeff Watson: Docker Guild debut album announced

Lion Music are proud to announce the signing of DOCKER’S GUILD to the label for the debut album “The Mystic Technocracy - Season 1: The Age of Ignorance”.

Docker's Guild is the solo effort of Douglas R. Docker, who put his talent and writing skill into “The Mystic Technocracy”, an opera which unfolds over 5 “seasons”. The first season, called “Season I: The Age of Ignorance”, sees the participation of worldwide acclaimed musicians like Gregg Bissonette (Joe Satriani, David Lee Roth), Magnus Jacobson, Tony Franklin (Blue Murder), Guthrie Govan (Asia), Jeff Watson(Night Ranger), John Payne (Asia, GPS), Göran Edman (Karmakanic, Yngwie Malmsteen), Amanda Somerville (Kiske/Somerville), Tony Mills (TNT, Shy) and many others. Docker's Guild, even if inspired by progressive masters like Yes, ELP, Dream Theater and Genesis, lives on its own sounds which is a very personal mixture of progressive roots played and crafted by mainly AOR musicians.

Douglas R. Docker has worked with a lot of acclaimed artists like Tony Franklin, Tim Bogert, Shining Line and Graig Goldie besides being the keyboardist for internationally acclaimed melodic rock band Biloxi. Biloxi's debut "Let The Games Begin" obtained worldwide success, reaching n. 10 in the Japanese charts (Burrn! Magazine) and n. 1 in England as the best import CD of 1993 (Kerrang! Magazine), as well as collecting an impressive amount of rave reviews worldwide. Biloxi toured the Los Angeles club scene extensively in 1993-1994, regularly headlining and selling out all the legendary Sunset Strip clubs, such as the Roxy, the Wiskey à Gogo and the Troubadour, among others. Biloxi then went on a promotional tour in Mississippi which culminated by headlining a show at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi (MS) in January 1994.

The Mystic Technocracy is a new and exciting science-fiction story and music project that has been in development for a number of years. It is the fictional outcome of a very simple observation: for 4000 years man has tortured, murdered, waged warfare and committed genocide in the name of the same God worshiped by Christians, Jews and Muslims, the three monotheistic religions. It is not a story against religion, but it is a story about the madness of man when he falls under the influence of fanatical dogmatic faith. This religious premise has then been plugged into a science-fiction universe, in which religion was created by a silicon-based life form, the Mystic Technocracy, in order to control, manipulate and eventually destroy humanity.

If you like TV series and 1930s serials like Babylon 5, Space 1999, Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, this is for you. If you like progressive rock bands like Yes, ELP and Dream Theater, AOR bands like Asia and Journey as well as Duran Duran, David Bowie, Jarre and The Rockets, this is also for you. If you have a healthy dislike of fundamentalism, and blind dogmatic faith, and spend lots of time wondering why so much pain and destruction can be generated by religions whose main goal is supposed to be love and compassion, then this is definitely for you.

The release date for Docker's Guild “The Mystic Technocracy - Season 1: The Age of Ignorance” will be announced shortly. In the meantime a teaser video for the album can be viewed at

New: Fools for Rowan working on a new album

Los Angeles, CA- Fools for Rowan, the Nashville based rock band, is set to release a new album and music video in 2012. It has been almost two years since the band has released new material. Fools For Rowan has written most of their record while on tour over the last year and recently started recording the new songs. In order to achieve the aforementioned goal, the group needs the help of their dedicated fans. The band has launched a Kickstarter campaign to assist in their efforts.

The powerhouse rock group, Fools For Rowan, is defined by their soaring vocals, powerful guitar licks and intense personal lyrics. The band has grown a large committed fan base partly due to the success of their first album, Twisted. Tied Up. Tangled. The album's first single, "Burnt Around the Edges" received acclaim from the college-age demographic in both the U.S. and Canada. In addition, the second single, "Dead" received spins on Top 40, College and Modern Rock radio. In addition, the video for the song was featured on Fuse TV. Due to their zealous live performance, Fools For Rowan has recently had the privilege of sharing the stage with such artists as: Evanescence, Trapt, Halestorm, and Sick Puppies.

Kickstarter is an online pledge system that funds creative projects. The Kickstarter campaign, that will raise money for the band's new album and a music video, has already been initiated online. Fools For Rowan offers a fantastic array of different prizes such as an autographed drumstick, a concert set list, band merchandise, arm wrestling contests, and even a dinner date with members of the band!

"It's been two years since our last album, so we're really anxious to get our new music into the hands of our fans," says lead vocalist, Erin Mullins. Fans will have until January 21st to help the band meet its goal. As always, the group is looking ahead. Fools For Rowan will continue to tour the U.S. in hopes of spreading the power of rock 'n' roll!
