Michael Knight: suffering from Cancer

Our best wishes to Michael and his family and friends.
Michael Knight has been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer that deteriorates the bones. While doctors are optimistic about getting the cancer into remission, Michael has suffered extensive physical damage to his spine. Surgery to treat vertebrae compression fractures has left the 48 year old guitarist with nerve and bone damage effecting the right side of his body. Michael said about his current condition, “As of now I can’t play the guitar, nerve damage has left my right hand with limited coordination and picking ability. But, I could have been paralyzed by my broken vertebrae - I just have to count my blessings that I‘m not.” more

Michael Knight: Necropolis - official video

Michael Knight:
This is an older song from my Mechanica Diablo CD. This song was about creating that dark mood and atmosphere and pulling listeners into the music rather than showing off my shred skills. I wrote this in the '90's so there is some influence of music I listened to at the time including: Rob Zombie, Manson, and NIN. But, there is also the undeniable riff influences of Sabbath, Maiden, Megedeth, and some Buckethead as well as a deliberately slower melodic solo near the end that touches on styles of Michael Schenker, Wolf Hoffman, & Mathias Jabs.

The concept video footage was all shot by myself. I like breaking up the guitar playing images with concept footage. I feel the image creativity makes the video a bit more interesting.

Anyways enjoy!! Please comment and add to your favorites. Feel free to embed the video on your blogs, websites and myspace pages - especially if you think that other music fanatics out there in the world would want to see & hear this. Welcome to Necropolis: the City of the Dead !!!

Michael Knight: Carnivore

Michael Knight - Carnivore, from the Electric Horrorland CD. I put together this vid from clips I had of me playing. I like to work in concepts so I added Video clips I had shot and pics I had taken through recent years. Originally the song Carnivore was inspired by an arcade game where you fought with Dinosaurs. Since I couldn't take any vid footage of Dinosaurs myself, I decided to do the vid with a shark/shipwreck/storm theme. The video also shows me playing my chops which combine shred, chromatic, bluesy styles and melodic modern guitar speed licks. This song is available thru I-Tunes and dozens of downloadable music sites including; Amazon.com, Verizon Music, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. You can also buy the Electric Horrorland CD from CDBaby.com or Guitar9.com. Thanks for listening and watching. Let me know what you think!! Leave comments!!

Michael Knight: credit crunching shred cruncher II

Michael Knight:
Sell your CDs as a theme package - If you set up a real 'theme show' gig with several like-style bands, (four instrumental bands, or four progressive bands, etc.) then it would make great sense to sell your CDs as a theme package also. Get together with the other bands and decide how to sell the CDs as a box-set for the night of the show. You might want to tape them together with some clear cellophane packaging tape or just rubber band them together. Make better pricing for fans to purchase them together than to buy them separate. Think low, low price for the attendees.

Keeping prices down and giving fans the most bang-for-the-buck is crucial to weathering the economic storm. Fans and potential fans will remember and appreciate the steps you have taken and this will strengthen their loyalty to your band. Once again, good luck and best wishes to you all in the year ahead.
