I found Walt Powell on myspace after a late night guitar trawling session. If you like neo classical playing Walt will appeal to you.
Background:
Walt Powell was born in 1965, however it wasn't until the age of 14 that he decided to play guitar after listening to his brother play guitar. His brother who is 10 years older than Walt got him into Eddie Van Halen's Eruption.
He had a musical hiatus while he spent three years in the US army. When he returned the guitar world had been shaken up by the arrival of Yngwie J. Malmsteen.
I liked Yngwie right away....I almost couldnt believe his playing was possible. I tried to figure his stuff out but I was completely clueless.
He decided to take lessons from Bryon Sheppard. However, it took him three years to get his technique down. After playing for 26 years he now incorporates Jazz and R and B.
