Alex Hutchings: How I use the looper with my band

Hey guys here's a quick video to show how I use the looper with my trio... Essentially, I use my Boss GR-55 to accompany with the E & A string tuned down an octave whilst recording the full loop, the drummer plays along live. Sometimes the loop can be around a minute long so it's important to try to keep solid time for when it comes back around. Once done I'm then free to solo over the loop I used for the other soloist. Quite simple but an effective way to expand the sound of a trio or any live ensemble... We've also started sending out the separate track to the drummer separately in order that he can monitor clearly both the loop and live guitar independently...
