20 Blues Shuffle Licks
In his first licks pack with JTC, John has created 20 organic Blues licks for you to add into your Blues playing right now! These licks are great for beginner and intermediate players so whether you are a new comer to the genre or a Blues veteran looking to explore something new, there's something great in this pack for everyone!
John says: "These are all two-bar or four-bar licks, which can be used over the full 12-bar blues progression. On each example, I've looped the lick over a full 12-bar chorus, so you can hear how it works over each of the chords and discover how it sounds and functions a little differently each time."
These licks make good use of classic blues vocabulary derived from the minor pentatonic and blues scale with a few added colour notes such as the 9th and chromatic passing notes to add flavour and interest. They also feature a few 'hat-tips' to some of the guitar greats such as BB King, SRV, Hendrix, and more modern blues players such as Matt Schofeild.
As ever, we have accurately transcribed every note and included the TAB/notation in the download, full backing tracks, audio solos and track notes.
