I still follow this principle to this day when improvising. My hope is that this may resonate with some of you in your approach to improvising, whether at home for a video or on a live gig. It's something I still think about over 20 years on..... Let me know your thoughts on this topic, I think it's fascinating and of course it completely varies depending on the musical context/genre etc, but still, something worth considering as I'm sure many of you have over the years.
