Animals as Leaders is an American, Washington, D.C.–based instrumental progressive metal band, formed by guitarist Tosin Abasi in 2007 which now includes guitarist Javier Reyes and drummer Navene Koperweis. The self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 by Prosthetic Records.  Animals as Leaders announced that their new album entitled Weightless would be released on November 8th, 2011 in the US, November 4th in Europe, and November 7th in the UK

So what was the show like? Well it was a last minute affair, never enough time to get everything done on time. I got my G+ reminder and remember... hey, I should have got my tickets for the show... but you know what time is and how is slips through your hand like water. So I got a last minute ticket on line. The band are currently touring as a support act, but when you get to the show it's clear that the fans are here to see and hear Tosin Abasi. However for me the complete band are just awesome, you look at them, two guys with eight string guitars, both can play lead, rhythm or bass, in fact do do interchange, but it's clear Tosin is the lead player. The band is underpinned by a top notch drummer, a real find, and this guy adds the propulsive dynamic that makes Animals As Leaders special.  I captured some of the show on lower quality video and android camera, but I highly recommend that is these guys are in your town you go see them play... you will not be disappointed.
