Tommy Emmanuel has been given the Order of Australia medal and has the letters AM (Member of the Order) as his title, following on from his cgp. Tommy receives the award for accomplishment in music and contributions to Charities including Kids Under Cover – an agency that creates opportunities for street kids to build their own homes.
The Order of Australia is Australia's highest non-military honor. Tommy's will be invested with his medal at a later date, but today is the nationwide announcement. Australians you will see this in all media including TV interviews on ABC TV news and radio and Ten TV News.
