Jad Nasr: Altered tensions in Jazz

"Here is a quick guide to create Altered tensions while improvising over a II V I Progression,
I find this trick very useful, and use it a lot in my playing.
Here is a simple intro that I guarantee you will open many doors and new ideas to your playing.

I learned this trick from Lee Wise, and it acts as a shortcut while I am improvising as I don't have to worry about finding the tensions in my head while playing, I can directly apply this rule.

I hope you like this tip, and let me know if you found this helpful, or not.

Summary : Play a Major shape half a step above the root of the dominant chord to create the Altered tensions

Cheers
