Tomorrow night I'm playing live in London in the final round of the biggest guitar competition in the world. To have made it to the final from over 600 international contestants is a huge honour and I'm going to savour every moment of the experience. It goes to show what can be achieved if you want something enough. I applied for music courses at two separate universities when I left school and was turned away as they thought I would "struggle with the course" because I didn't have a grade 8 certificate. I then awkwardly had to show two 2nd year students how to use Logic Pro because they couldn't get it to play during my induction presentation. A piece of paper means nothing, hard work is everything. Find a way and never give up.
