'Shadow Machine' is my latest instrumental composition attempting to speak (when words can't) about how I've been feeling lately. About thirty something days ago I went into 'pure shredding mode' for the first time in many, many years (spending day after day playing half/whole diminished, chromatic, whole tone etc. scales. quickly in an endless loop with no direction...) . I invited the phenomenal drummer Van Christensen (the 'Vanimal') over and suggested we improvise for a bit. I recorded/video'd our session as it evolved.....
Everything you hear is just Van and me, no backing tracks. The B3 and strings are being played real-time with my left hand guitar synth.
