Charly Sahona: venturia beyond meloncholia

Charly Sahona of Venturia has just checked in with the following update.

Just wanted to let you know that we're about to record our new album with Venturia and we're going to put a blog online about the making of the "Venturia part 2" (album title to be confirmed) within a few days. The musical approach is the same, with the same balance between, metal/technical stuff/strong melodies and of course, the line up is the same too, but as the songs were written during the last 2 years, these new influences and sounds will make this album different from the debut. Fans can expect a good evolution musically speaking. The recording will begin in 3 weeks and will take place at Artsonik studios in Switzerland. We're extremely excited, stressed and happy at the same time!

Charly Sahona and Venturia are 2 weeks from the beginning of the recording of the new Venturia album. You can check their blog just online that will be daily updated during all the time of the recording.

Those wonder people at www.guitars-attitude.com have posted a master class and interview online with Charly Sahona. They are all in French, but I think the guitar one is self explanitory!! Thanks to Fufux666 gain for his great work. Now if he can just interview Richard Daude!!

Venturia filmed a live show in Geneve, Switzerland on December 1st 2006. The show will be broadcasted on March 3rd of 2007 at 1900 on Swiss channel TSR. The show will also be broadcasted on TV5 at a later date. TV5 is available across most of mainland Europe if you have cable TV.

Background:
French born player Charly Sahona began playing piano at the age of 5 studying classical music for 12 years. At the age of 15 he picked up the guitar. He was immediately intersted in the shredding possibiliies of guitar and progressive music als Dream Theater.

Charly fromed his band Venturia in 2000. In late 2003, Charly asked to play on the Shawn Lane tribute vol 1, released through Lion Music. This lead to the Venturia project and recording the debut album, "The New Kingdom", in 2004.He then got a deal deal with Lion Music for the release of "The New Kingdom".
