Joe Satriani: chickenfoot fazer gig review



As for Chickenfoot’s performance, it was Grade-A rock n’ roll from the first note to the last, with a casual appeal and a whole lotta attitude. As mentioned, the goal was to play the entire forthcoming record during the show, and while the opening song of ‘Avenida Revolution’ and the follow up of ‘Soap on a Rope’ were undoubtedly brilliant, it wasn’t until they played ‘Sexy Little Thing’ that they really hit their stride. This is a song that is indeed sexy, in its lyrics, in its swagger and groove, and definitely in the rhythmic breakdown. It isn’t really rock n’ roll unless it’s served with a side order of sex, and this song managed to accomplish that while establishing itself as a definite crowd pleaser. ‘Oh Yeah’, the band’s current single, was another winner and saw Satriani play by mouth during the bridge
