The guitar skills of Kiko Loureiro (Pedro Henrique Loureiro) from Angra are widely recognized by legions of Heavy Music fans worldwide. You may remember when Angra broke into the music scene in the early 90s and how Kiko's guitar playing caught the attention of your beloved ear drums. Ever since then, his technique has only gotten better and smoother. This is ultimately what helped Kiko establish himself as one of the best guitarists to ever come from Latin America. Add some great song writing skills and you get quality records such as his latest solo album 'Sounds Of Innocence'.

On his latest solo album Kiko takes the listener through a roller coaster of guitar sounds that hit the soul and give you immediate goosebumps. Instrumental albums are very tricky since they really need to be well written and produced. Thankfully, Kiko nailed it on 'Sounds Of Innocence' and this record might be his best one yet. You be the judges.

On Monday, July 8, we met up with Kiko at Primary Wave Music in New York City to chat with him in detail about the production and vision of 'Sound Of Innocence' (available now via Victor Entertainment). We also discussed Angra's upcoming plans, surviving the music industry and the rise of South American Metal. Without further due, here is our exclusive interview with Kiko Loureiro!
