Mustigt solo by johan randén

This was an instrumental prog-metal/jazz-fusion band that consisted of Andreas Brobjer on drums, myself on bass and the incredible Johan Randén on guitar. They are both younger than I am, but still kick my ass many times over. I'm very honored that Andreas even asked me to join the band!

(A.L.J. = Andreas + Linus + Johan)

We only played together for about two, three years and unfortunately there are no existing audio recordings except from our self-made videos (such as this one). This particular recording was from our third session at the rehearsal space in Falköping. I sure miss playing and jamming with those guys...

Background:
Johan was born in Sweden in 1988 and started playing guitar at the age of 9. His undoubted talent lead him to make his first public appearance at a Sweden Rock Festival at the age of 11, playing with Freak Kitchen (featuring Swedish super shredder Mattias "IA" Eklundh).

When he was 12 years old Johan began recording his debut album with mentor and friend Mattias "IA" Eklundh. guitar player. and lead singer with Freak Kitchen and (Favored Nations) solo artist.

His debut album "Johan: Lead Guitar" was released worldwide in the spring of 2001. Then in spring 2003, Johan was invited to visit Japan for a very successful clinic/promotional tour including TV interviews and a DVD recording for Japanese guitar magazine "Young Guitar".

Johan has completed his second release, "Version 2.0" which was released in the spring of 2005 and clearly shows his improving maturity.

He was also highlighted by Magnus Olsson as a player to watch out for in his recent Essential Guitarist Interview

Check out another swedish super shredder http://www.magnusolsson.com/ to find out more.
