I'm not sure why I have not heard of this already, but I suspect that guitar player, although one of the best guitar magazines is still locked into old world web 1.0 technology...
The short list: Mark Christian, Mike Orlando, Vicki Genfan, the guy, Makana, Daddo Oreskovich, Eric Barnett, Eric Brewer, Ben Robinson, and Dan Peters.
I have to say that Daddo Oreskovich's CD has be firmly playing on my mp3 over the month of August an is highly recommended.

Ten finalists were chosen to perform onstage in front of a live audience and a panel of world-famous guitar stars: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Elliot Easton (The Cars), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), and Brendon Small (co-creator of Adult’s Swim’s Metalocalypse animated series).
