Marshall Harrison says:

Here we apply a concept I call "rescuing the pick". This occurs when we use hybrid picking to pluck notes when our pick is not readily available (or out in no man's land). The first licks introduce and reinforce the ideas then we apply the concept to the left part of Chopin's Prelude 3 in G major. Finally, we use a variation of the main concept to play some triad-based runs.
