Jeff Beck’s 2014 double-bill tour with ZZ Top provides the source material for the guitarist’s new live album, Jeff Beck Live+, out May 5. The album features 14 live performances from the tour and includes two new studio tracks, the first new music from Beck since his 2010 Grammy-winning album, Emotion & Commotion.

Jeff Beck Live+ features more than an hour’s worth of music recorded at multiple venues. On the tracks, Beck is backed up by his band, consisting of vocalist Jimmy Hall, bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Jonathan Joseph and guitarist Nicolas Meier. The material stretches across Beck’s five-decade career and includes “Morning Dew” (from Truth, 1968), “Superstition” (from Beck, Bogert, Appice, 1973), “Big Block” (from Jeff Beck’s Guitar Shop, 1989), and two Grammy-winning tracks: his cover of the Beatles’ “A Day in the Life” and “Hammerhead.”

The two new studio tracks are “Tribal” and “My Tiled White Floor,” and they feature guest vocals from Ruth Lorenzo and Veronica Bellino, respectively. These aggressive new songs mark Beck’s first studio recordings since 2010.

Beck’s 17th full-length studio album is expected later this year.
