When I first had the idea for my new song Animus Somnio I was inspired by thoughts of the deeper meanings of life and the purpose of existence. What is life anyway, and why are we here? These are questions that we should all try to think and ponder on from time to time in our lives.
Animus=mind
Somnio=dream
It does at times seem like life is just a mind dream. The song was created in intervals over a period of three days. The end of the main guitar solo at around 2:42 (appx) I performed an atonal chromatic phrase with an ascending Lydian passage over the top of it that I hope will spin a few guitar lover's heads! All said, this is a thematic piece and I hope everyone who comes by to check it out enjoys what they hear and rock out!
