A review of Gustavo Di Padua's new CD tje Stairs by Rory Sullivan at all out guitar.

‘The Stairs’ is the story of his life so far and was written, recorded, produced and performed entirely by Gustavo in his home studio between July 2007 and March 2008. The production quality is excellent, as is the material which is conveyed through sublime musicianship.

'The Stairs' combines hard rock, funk, soul, metal and balladry with great ease: nothing feels out of place or indeed contrived at any point. There is a lot of music in Gustavo but unlike so many others, he seems to have no trouble communicating his vision with the rest of us. His guitar tone and technique is up there with the greats, but it all feels much fresher - mainly because he has something new to say musically... unlike many of his heroes recent work...
