It's well documented that there is a rivalry between the East and West coast of the United states. Rappers like Dr-Dre have written songs about it. So how does the guitar scene compare? Well you have the competition between the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and Berklee College of Music, in Boston, near(ish) New York. Well again according to analysis of google analytics, visits for the last year show:

Interestingly West coast have a soft spot for the blond haired, Santanaesque female guitarist, Orianthi, while east coast prefer the dark haired, female fusion licks of Nori Bucci.
More interestingly is what East and West coast have in common! They both rate very highly, Paul Gilbert, Bruce Bouillet and Robert Marcello, plus Brazil's Fernando Miyata and Gustavo Guerra and UK's Guthrie Govan!
