Being an Australia resident I didn’t want to ignore what is going on when I might be able to help out a little. I have already donated my month’s advertising income to the Red Cross which isn’t much but I figured every dollar counts in this tragic time. For those of you who would like to help out those affected by the terrible bushfires that have ravaged parts of Victoria in some cases wiping out entires communities you can donate on the Red Cross site.full post
The 2009 Victorian Bushfire Fund to assist individuals and communities affected by devastating bushfires in Victoria has been launched by the Premier John Brumby in partnership with Red Cross and the Federal Government. As at 9.00pm on the 10th February, the Fund had received $31.2 million from over 176,000 website and phone donations, with governments including the Victorian and Federal Governments, and corporates pledging additional sums. Donations are still continuing to flow in.
