Mike Keneally: mykeneally tour

For those who may not know, Mike Keneally is an incredible musician, songwriter, vocalist, and beautifully humble human. Among those things and more, he has been my favorite living guitarist for years now. Mike has worked with Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Henry Kaiser, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, The Persuasions, Solomon Burke, Dweezil Zappa, DETHKLOK, and numerous other notables. Mike is truly a musician's musician, equally adept at keyboards, guitar, percussion, production and lots of other "stuffs" (as Mike might say). Keneally is a kind and generous soul and possesses a marvelous gift which is rare in artists and public figures these days. Mike will come off stage following a performance and walk right into the crowd to meet, greet, take pictures, autograph merchandise, and generally mingle with his devoted fans. I have been an ardent admirer and folower of Mike's since 1988, and never miss an opportunity to attend his performances and hang out a little. His beautiful energy, spirit, and aura are so contagious, such that one can't help but smile and feel a deep warmth in his presence. At a recent show here in Massachusetts, Mike opened his second set by playing a funky solo version of Jerry Reed's 1970 hit, "Amos Moses" using my very own guitar. What an honor which I cannot sufficiently describe in words. I'll never wash my guitar again. Bahaha!
