Eastwood Guitars introduces the new Airline ’59 Newport

Another new model for 2014 from Eastwood Guitars is the Airline ’59 Newport guitar. It is based on the highly sought after National Newport Val-Pro 88 from the late 50’s and early 60’s. The Newport was famous for their wide variety of tonal variations and Eastwood has hit the mark in bringing another classic back to life.

The new Airline ’59 Newport has a lightweight tone chambered mahogany body with a bolt-on, zero fret bound maple neck with rosewood finger board and vintage style National inlaid fret markers. The two NY Mini Humbuckers and the Piezo bridge pickups each have individual volume and tone controls with a master volume, giving the player a wide variety of tone options and presets. The tun-o-matic bridge and chrome trapeze tail bring this vintage dream into the modern players realm. It is available in black or seafoam green and ships with a DLX Airline hardshell case.

“The National Newport Val-Pro 88 was such a fabulous guitar and hard to find” said Mike Robinson, President and founder of Eastwood Guitars, "that it was a must add to the Airline ’59 family and the response to this new model is amazing”.
