Tonight's video was done with a backing track I found on Youtube. The last few improv videos I've done have been slower, allowing me to try different techniques and melodies, play licks that are more catchy and less flashy. Tonight I decided to just go for speed, so I found this killer track from a user on YouTube named matsomo and just went for it. It has a Grip Inc. vibe, who is an amazing and underrated band. The other videos I've posted have always been between the twentieth or thirtieth take, as it would take me some time to feel the vibe of the track I was playing over. However, the video here is take one! There's definitely some sloppy playing in parts, but I really don't care. The vibe is there and I think I played some pretty cool licks. In an age where everyone only shows "perfect" performances to the public, it's nice to hear "imperfections" because I prefer to hear humans playing music as opposed to computers....
