Daniele Gottardo: Lydian Hexatonic Substitution

Weekly Mini Lesson #48 - Lydian Hexatonic Substitution. In this line, over A maj7#11, I'm playing E major hexatonic: 1-2-3-5-6-7. This kind of substitution outlines a 6-note subset derived from the A Lydian mode, scale degrees: 5-6-7-2-3-#4. The omission of the root considerably sweetens the Lydian mode as the dissonant interval of tritone between scale degree 1 and #4 is absent. Transcription, TAB, and extensive lesson are available on my Patreon page!
