Shred Guitar In The 80s! In this episode I take a look at Yngwie Malmsteen and analyze the song Liar off the Trilogy album. I also take a look at a 1988 cover story on Yngwie in Guitar World magazine and how the players at the time were compared to him. I also take a look at the album Rapid Fire Rondo by Joe Stump .. The emergence of Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads and Yngwie Malmsteen in the 1980s ushered in a movement of amazing technical hard rock guitarists like Paul Gilbert, Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, Greg Howe, Akira Takasaki George Lynch and Warren DeMartini.
