Justin Tolan Shred

Justin Tolan was born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1987. He started out playing acoustic guitar at the age of eight but did not persue it.

He started playing again at the age of 12 after hearing Randy Rhoads and early Black Sabbath albums. He took lessons from Howie Bentley. His interest was further driven by hearing Yngwie J. Malmsteen for the first time, encouraging him to practice many hours per day. At the age of 16 he attended the Berklee College of Music summer program where he studied with Joe Stump.

He recorded a demo entitled Requiem and began getting enough matierial together to put out an album. He came to the attention of Mike Varney and was featured in the August 2005 issue of guitar player Spotlight column.

Justin now relocated to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. He is currently studying under Joe Stump.
